Two of the three meets I got were mostly fat. The smoke beans taste like they were chemically smoked. The cornbread was forgettable. The best part of the meal was that they had Dr Pepper.
I tried to change a couple of menu items and they wouldn't let me because they said their portions were all preset. I tried to ask to get different types of smoked meat and they said that you had to only pick one type of smoke meat unless you do their combo plate that was the most expensive item on the menu and then you can get multiple types of meat. So I got their combo plate only to find that two of the three meets I was given were over 50% fat. The only one that was a decent amount of meat was the chicken and it was a bit drier than I would have hoped and didn't have a good smoke flavor.
The service was fine. They're very cobbler was 90% juices and was swimming in some sort of a berry juice and not really what I would expect. It wasn't a syrup like I would usually get in a cobbler... It was the same consistency as a minute maid juice.
This is my third time coming to this place. Each time I felt like it is just a chance encounter that I've happened to get something that wasn't right. Each time I've been left thinking that maybe if something would be a little bit different that I would enjoy my meal. Each time I thought I'll give it another try. This will be my last time going here though.
For those that are a fan I'm sure that it's a great place I've just had three subpar, below average, mediocre...
Read moreI have written a lot of reviews… positive and negative. But this place takes the cake. Arrived and was quickly seated. Drinks ordered. Dinner order taken: can I order double brisket? No, meats are doled out individually. Okay, the meal arrives and there were three separate servings of what I had ordered. Why couldn’t there have been two individual servings of brisket?? Ribs: okay. Rib tips: nasty and smothered in their vile bbq sauce. Brisket: barely okay (thank goodness there wasn’t a second serving). Second meal: sausage link: okay. Chicken wings: very good (shocker). Pulled pork: tasteless and dry as a bone. The waitress had disappeared. While everyone around us was continually served and asked if additional items were needed. Us. We sat there eating our mediocre food. Finally one of the other waiters asked if we needed anything. My husband said a refill would be nice. It was brought full of ice to the brim with very little soda. The waitress finally came back and said she had been busy behind the counter. My husband had been watching her “bullshit” with someone at the counter for over 15 minutes. We paid our bill and left leaving a small tip. You’ll never see me at this place again. Ps. They only got one star because the chicken...
Read moreBarbecue has been a passion of mine forever. Being born and raised in the Oklahoma Panhandle and traveling all over the West and South, I've experienced the best that these regions have to offer. With that in mind, I always have cautious optimism when I try a new venue. I was delighted to find the SNS Diner to have an outstanding BBQ selection, ample portions, with a flavor profile that is a delightful blend of Texas, Tennessee, and Carolina. I had a sampler of ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and I added a hot link...(I'm a pig! I know! But I intended on having leftovers for a couple of meals!) The meats were excellently prepared but lightly seasoned, so the meat was the starring attraction, leaving the diner to augment to suit each individual palate. Their in-house recipe sauces (reg, spicy, and mustard) are the perfect compliment. The service (thank you, John Kevin F. !) was stellar! From the initial greeting from the delightfully pleasant and helpful young lady behind the bar to the last bite of the New Orleans influenced bread pudding (you must treat yourself to this decadent treat!! ...with NO raisins... THANK YOU, CHEF!!!) Wherever you are in the Las Vegas Valley or Southern Nevada, if you like good barbecue, a journey to the SNS Diner is one to...
