Everyone who knows me, knows that I love Dunkin. It's one of my defining qualities, for better or worse. I spend upwards of $2000/year on Dunkin. Between the North Liberty and Coralville locations, I am at one of them daily. Sometimes, both. And not because I want two coffees in one day; I just want one... made correctly, how I ordered it.
Sometimes I order specialty drinks (with no modifications to how they are made), but generally, I order the same thing, every time:
A medium iced (sometimes frozen) coffee with butter pecan and 1 cream. (The default amount for a medium is 3 shots of each.)
It's not even a complicated order. But it's NEVER. EVER. CONSISTENT. I've attached a photo that shows the same drink from both North Liberty and Coralville locations in 3 varying shades of white to brown.
Majority of the time, my coffee order from North Liberty is very pale and cream-colored. Like they are not measuring out their shots and going super heavy on the cream and syrups. It's always sickly sweet compared to orders from other locations.
Today I ordered myself a coffee and a couple refreshers for coworkers and had my roommate pick them up and deliver to us at work. The refreshers tasted great, but my coffee was so light and sweet, I couldn't drink much of it without wanting to puke. I went to this location after I was off work (about two hours later, with a mostly full cup of coffee) and asked if I could have my drink remade because it wasn't right and tasted terrible. The employee didn't want to do that for me. He mentioned adding to my drink? (Instead of just making me a new one.) As if adding more of anything would make it taste better. It had TOO much cream and syrup in it to begin with...
Left my drink on the counter and drove the extra 30 minutes to go to Coralville to pay additional money to have the drink I wanted made how I ordered it.
This is just ONE instance of bad service/wrong order. It's an almost daily occurrence at North Liberty. I regularly have to deal with:
Above employee on his phone instead of working/acknowledging that he has customers. Waiting for someone to greet me at the mobile pick-up counter, where my order is NOT sitting because it HASN'T EVEN BEEN STARTED YET because someone didn't look to see they had a new ticket. Food items I order not being in stock; I can never have the seasonal bacon sandwich on a croissant because they must only make like 5 croissants per day Being late to work because of reasons listed above. A severe lack of donuts for a donut chain. I rarely ever eat desserts, especially donuts... but when I do, they don't have any. I will often times order a more expensive item (e.g. coffee roll) and have it replaced with a cheaper donut because it's all they have in stock. And I don't get refunds for that. Other times, the flavor I want (almost always glazed) is out of stock. Drinks never made correctly/same as previous visits or visits to other locations. My review is a common example, but I also frequently get whipped cream on my frozen drinks (which I don't ask or pay for, and I REALLY don't want), coconut milk refreshers that are absent any (or very little) coconut milk, coffees that are missing cream/flavor/both, etc.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that after 5 years of patronage and thousands of dollars later, you should drive a few blocks West and get a coffee...
Read moreDon’t waste the time. I’m typing this review as I sit in the drive thru waiting for what I ordered. I have also been sitting in drive thru for at least ten minutes. We arrive and can hardly understand the person on the speaker and then we are told the order we placed on mobile wasn’t even started and that they didn’t have any of the donuts that we ordered. We asked to have the donuts taken off the order but they would not be able to do that since it was mobile. We received 2 muffins and 4 random donuts they probably had lying around. 😂 Once that was finally “figured out”, we get handed three bags with these donuts and muffins just tossed into. Then they realize we had drinks too. As we sit and wait for our items, the awning above the drive thru is dripping rain water down into the car any time that we have to roll the window down. We get handed ONE of our three drinks. They thought that our order was completed. We told them we had two additional drinks, had to tell them what the drink we ordered was. While waiting another worker comes to the window trying to hand us more sandwiches. We tell her that we have our food, just waiting on two last drinks. She then says she’s going to go start our sandwiches 🤦🏻♀️ We explained again that we had the food, we needed the last two drinks. We finally received the drinks! In no way did any of these employees try to make any of this right. The last girl that came to the window was apologetic at least. What. A. Mess! Also… this is a Dunkin Donuts on a Saturday mid day and they have no donuts. I don’t quite...
Read moreI went there last week with my fiance to get are morning coffee and bagels. I was trying to explain to the cashier that I have free coffee and donuts with any purchase I make. She was acting stupid and charge me for I explained to her 3 time and I scanned my phone. She kept deleting the offer and act stupid. I gave up and paid for whatever I ordered. So after i paid i double check the receipt and i realized that she charged me for extra stuff(my reward gift) I went back to talk to her. She kept shaking her head I called her manager and start whispering. I spoke up and explained what happened the manager ignored me and refunded the money. The said very loud I will try to remember this face I know those kind of trash people. I was so confused and shocked of her reaction and response as manager. Then I realized how dirty her cloth and the way she look to be in this position. NEW MORNING MANAGER, SHE IS RUDE, NASTY ATTITUDE & NEEDS TO BE CHECKED by her boss because she is going to run all the regulars away with her nasty, and rude disposition. Truly a terrible experience I just had with her and I will never ever go...
