I'm in town for 2 nights and this was the closest Chinese place, I figured I'd give them a try for some take out. Food is just ok, service is very fast and friendly.

First night I had Combination Chow Fun (Ho Fun in some places) and Seafood Hot and Sour Soup. If "Hot" means temperature, then this soup was a perfect 10, because I had enough time to stop at the liquor store, get back to my hotel, eat the Chow Fun and this soup was still hot enough to burn my mouth. No stars deducted for heat retention, but, just a word of caution. The flavor of the soup was neither spicy or sour. If I were at home, I would have added some chili crisp and a lot of vinegar. The contents of the soup were actually good. Lots of egg, bamboo, mushrooms and some small shrimp. But it needed a lot in the flavor department.

The Chow Fun was completely unfortunate. Noodles were way overcooked and soft and the beef was so hard to chew that I took it all out after a few bites. I would guess they use similar quality beef in all the beef dishes, so, caveat emptor.

First try... 1 Star.

Apparently I'm a glutton for punishment because I tried them again tonight. I went a different direction and ordered the Mabo Tofu. Overall I'd give it 3.5 stars. Definitely too salty and I've had more authentic flavor out of a box topping from the Asian grocery, but the flavor was good, the heat was actually ok too. They cheaped out with the steamed rice and didn't fill the small carton though. Not "didn't pack it tight".. when I opened it, it wasn't full.

Second try... 3 stars (being generous).

To top it off, I spoke (very kindly) to the same guy that I bought from last night (AFTER my order was in my hand and paid for) and told him how bad the chow fun was. He just said "Ok". I wasn't expecting anything other than an apology, which I didn't get.

Summary: If you want some average Chinese food, this is the place. I recommend avoiding the beef and the...

TLDR: Out of our party of 4, none of us really liked the offerings. We will not be back.

I had the Hunan Beef, and the meat was tough and tasted like it had been picked up from the manager's special bin at Kroger a week ago. Did NOT taste fresh. Sliced carrots and bell peppers not even close to cooked. I had upgraded to the Family special with soup, rib, "crab" rangoon, egg roll. Hot and sour soup was pretty good, though seemed to have a beef broth or consomme base. Eggroll was pretty standard. Asked for some hot mustard. OMG, that was the hottest mustard I have ever had in my life. "Crab" rangoon had a piece of something chewy wrapped in a thick, heavy deep fried shell. Not the light, cream cheese filled pastry you normally call a rangoon. Pork rib was chewy and over cooked. Perhaps deep fried to get it to the table quick. Almost no meat, just a big thick rib bone.

My wife had the shrimp in lobster sauce, which she said had no flavor.

My oldest son (27) had the pork chow mein. He said the veggies were OVER cooked, pork unrecognizable, everything had too much sauce on it, portion was too small. Soup was nearly all won-ton, no broth.

My youngest son (25) had the sweat and sour chicken. The veggies (sliced carrots and white onion) and pineapple come out cold and uncooked, sauce on the side. Serving size was more than adequate, just rather uninspiring.

So, for $100 at dinner, none of us...

I go there 2x a week the women at the cash register have a nasty attitude. I ordered a bowl of shrimp and a chicken sizzling! For $ 8.00 !! I asked her for some wontons to put over my soup she walked off from me and then I asked her this is all the shrimps and me to get in the soup and she took her pinky finger and pointed at my bowl ! She's quick to take your money at the register and collect money from the table but the other gentleman there while he's bringing in and out the orders she's taking all the tips so I will not be leaving her a tip she's rude and disrespectful and whoever on this place they need to address that !! 😞the meat is getting less. I will not be sending anyone to that place when I bring a family at 7and co-workers there to eat I will not speak highly of the restaurant just because of one person will make it bad. What's good food but I won't be...

I went in to grab a takeout for a late lunch. The customer service was fair. The food isn’t bad. It was nice and hot when I received it. However, the congruency of the advertised price and the actual price is poor. The advertised price for combo rice on the menu is $8.50, as seen in my picture I was charged $9.50. I couldn’t find the price of the egg rolls on the menu at all. They also have written statement on the menu regarding extra charges for miscellaneous things. There’s a sign by the register that says there’s a .50 charge for extra sauce. They will buckle and dime you! Be aware of your charges!

We stopped in today for lunch. Our first time eating here. The Food was Amazing. I had Egg Drop Soup and Egg Rolls. My Husband had Beef and Broccoli over Noodles. The Service and Server was Okay. The server had to be told to refill drinks multiple times. And to bring extra ice. Drinks would come out with hardly ANY Ice in Cup. My BIGGEST Disappointment was the Server gave us Chipped Plates to Eat on. My Husband’s Food was Served on a Chipped Plate. Those Dishes Should have NEVER given to us. When I spoke to the Server about it…He acted like it was NOT a Big Deal 😡

Mr. Chang‘s is a very basic Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. The decor and furnishings are drab and outdated. But the restaurant is still very functional. It seems that they provide quite a few more takeout meals than they do dine in service. This is a favorite place for my husband and his coworkers to grab a quick, reasonably priced lunch. Dinner prices are more expensive, as expected. It’s not a place for a family gathering or to celebrate a special day, but it’s decent food when you’re in the mood for Americanized Chinese food.
