If I could give this a 0/5 I would. This place is ableist and doesn't care about accommodating their customers. My family party of 8 were celebrating 2 birthdays and when placing an order, let the server know if we would be able to order something of the kids menu (shrimp skewer) for my mother who has advanced dementia and doesn't eat and gets anxious at the sight of being served large meals. I mentioned this to the server and she said she would speak with the manager to see if they would be able to accommodate this request. When she came back to tell me the manager said no, I asked why not, and she was condescending and said "well she is a full grown adult and not a child". At this point I asked to speak directly with the manager to explain the situation directly to her, after speaking to the manager she said no and that she had called the owner to ask if they could make an exemption and the owner said again said no. I asked if I would be able to have a conversation with the owner over the phone and the owner refused to speak to me. This goes to show how terrible business management the owner has. I ended up asking (out basic principles that this is no longer an establishment I can stand behind and support) to cancel our meals and we would like to close out our check and pay for the drinks.
This breaks my heart that this establishment makes no expectations for families with special needs, if someone in the party has a disability and they are so firm and unwilling to make any exemptions. I cannot support a business being run like this where they cannot be bothered to help out families in their toughest times but instead fight back and double down harder about said "rules" when other businesses who are properly run and managed will be willing to make accommodations and not degrade their customers.
On top of all of this, the manager and other employees were smoking hookah on the job in front of their customers by the bar, and when letting them know we were not going to be paying for anything we do not consume, they tried to have us leave with open alcohol containers and I had to remind them doing such things is ILLEGAL. On top of them practicing shady business, the server did not ID anyone at the table ordering alcoholic beverages, despite having 2 under age people a part...
Read moreI’ve been to this restaurant a hand full of times, but i will not return after the last visit. They request that you call in for reservations and their phone line is always busy it takes about 50 calls to get a person on the line that places you on hold for about 30-60 min to then provide you a reservation. Once you arrive expect to stand in a line that will take you about an hour or so to be seated. While you wait in this line to be seated you get to see all the staff running around like chickens with their heads cut off and no one approaches you or informs you the length or the reason of the wait (although i called in and reserved a table). When you finally get seated do not expect for a waitress to approach you for at least an hour to offer you a glass of water (if she remembers). After my table of 7 was seated we were not attended to for hours and when we were it was by an extremely rude manager who kept calling me the n-word and telling me he was not a server (yet took the orders and served). Finally after hours of waiting (for drinks, food and decent service)they bring out the appetizer and soon after bring almost all the entrees except for two(we waited an additional hour for those), when alerting the manager about the mistake he approached the table addressed me as the n-word and told me to wait because they were busy. I mean if you are not in a rush to eat and want awful service as well as being called racial slurs then that is the perfect place for you, if not find another restaurant that respects their customers. I wouldn’t go back even if it was free.
P.S. the only reasons our alcohol beverages came out fast was because we ordered two bottles to the table, that we basically had to get up and get ourselves. Also, the hookah was awful burns your throat...
Read moreWent on a Thursday night with a party of 3. We couldn’t find the restaurant when we pulled into the plaza parking lot, and there were other people looking for it too. Apparently the lounge was on the 2nd floor of the building, but we found it. My friend and I were waiting for another person to arrive so we ordered 2 appetizers; rellenos de papas, something that looked like empanadas, and they were both really good. The passion fruit juice (non-alcoholic) was great and my friends loved the passion fruit sangria. The food was also fantastic! My friend ordered the snapper (fried) and chicharron (not fried), I ordered the 787 Mar Y Tierra w/ Cajun penne pasta, and my other friend ordered a half of pineapple w/ steak and rice. Our food came out and everything came out perfect except mine. They sent me a skirt steak instead of the filet mignon that I ordered. We notified a food runner and he didn’t speak English, he sent the waitress over but then the waitress over and she admitted she made a mistake. There are two dishes they have on the menu that have similar names, but she fixed the meal. Everything was great except the side of pasta which tasted like they put sazon seasoning and oil on it, I didn’t eat it. It was my friend’s birthday and I think two other people’s birthdays in the restaurant. We ordered my friend a piece of red velvet birthday cake and the staff came out and sang happy birthday. The birthday candle was really cool, bigger than a sparkler and my friend loved it. The bill came out to $271 and we ordered another order of chicharron to go. I felt bad because there was only one waitress working, there was a party of 12+, our party, and there were tables coming and going. Overall a pretty good experience....
