I’ve read all sorts of varying reviews about this place so a friend and I decided to go this morning. If you’re looking for a breakfast spot that is perfectly medium then this is your spot.
The service: there were maybe 5 tables filled in the place, service was just ok, nothing exceptional, nothing awful, perfectly medium.
The food: could be way better but could have been much worse. The thing that bothered me the most was the feeling that whoever was cooking the food didn’t care. When someone orders eggs over easy or with any kind of runny yolk you shouldn’t be plating eggs with broken yolks. Pancakes were wildly inconsistent one was cooked and the other wasn’t. I don’t know if you’ve ever had an undercooked pancake but it’s gross and makes you not want to eat one again.
I’d liken the food to a step above what you get in a hotel and that bums me out because I was hoping this place would shine.
Cost: two of us had the same thing, two coffees and one cranberry juice. Total was just over $50. Would I be ok eating there for that price again? In a pinch? Sure. Otherwise I’m probably going somewhere else. Which is too bad because it’s heckin convenient being right on Miserable Spring.
I hope the quality goes up and the folks making the food start caring about what they’re doing because this place could...
Read moreFirst off, it's nice to see something else other then a dunkin open up on Mineral Spring Ave.
Sometimes for me, it's the little things that make a huge difference... Example: I ordered takeout which came with an order of French fries... In the takeout container was a layer of foil to prevent the hot fries from melting the container. To me, that shows experience.
The frech fries are absolutely amazing. I got ketchup (just in case) however it would be insulting if I were to mask or cover up these fries. They seem lightly seasoned and pair amazing with this burger.
The burger (The Champ) is a cheese burger with onion, lettuce and tomatoes with fried onions and BBQ sauce. The fried onions are the star of this in my opinion. The BBQ sauce is lightly applied to the point you still taste the other ingredients and it's not incredibly messy and dripping all over the place. The produce seemed to be all fresh which in term always makes for a better tasting item.
I'm sitting here looking at what little is left of my food and im going to be honest, i cant point my finger at anything that I would change.
Congrats on opening and I wish ya nothing but a successful future...
Read moreMorning feast with friends at Dominic's Place breakfast restaurant: I had the buttermilk pancake with banana on the side; the syrup was warm and sweet. The crab cakes were overcooked, looked and tasted burned, eggs and grits friends enjoyed. First time tasting crepes, a tasty thin pancake-like sweet treat with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and whipped cream on the side top with strawberry delicious. Our bill came up to $95 plus. For pancake, No way, smh. I thought it's a practice for the server to ask about the bill. I prefer to pay individually. The waiter seems to be struggling to create an individual once the receipt has been processed. This was an awkward and uncomfortable situation to be placed in. One person ends up paying. Suggestions come for a mimosa drink special, that's what the local tells me. It’s a the cozy restaurant with a full bar which is situated in a shopping plaza. * $95 for the...
