Took the Boss here for breakfast once again.
The place is clean and comfortable and the same design as Howie’s.
The restaurant was busy so service was a little slower than usual.
The meals were okay but not exactly what we thought we had ordered.
The Boss’s Special French Toast really did not taste special and I was not fond of the bacon inside the omelet.
The Boss did like the fact that the coffee was “piping hot” just the way she likes it.
Reply: Yes the last time I was in was several months ago but you do understand this is a non compensated hobby - not a job. We post ratings when we have spare time. My lack of urgency to report on our meal does not have anything to do with what we actually experienced when we were there.
Also you received a 3 star “Okay” rating that was fair. Our meals were just okay. 🤷🏻
The Boss is a mid 80’s woman who smiles in every photo shes in and I totally agree with you that the $12.50 “Special French Toast” I was charged for was not so special!
When we asked the waitress that it was on the menu as “stuffed with cream cheese” and she said that “they put it on top here”, even though it clearly was not. The Boss doesn’t make waves at her age and goes with the flow. Next time I will ask for the manager to address this outrage!
As for my omelette I just didn’t care for the taste of the bacon. I am not the chef, I’m the customer. I can’t tell you why it didn’t taste right? I don’t run into too many bacon problems in my life?
Since you are so interested in my thoughts I will add that both of our $6.00 each small glasses of “Freshly Squeezed OJ” were oddly very bitter as well??
But because “Breanna” tried her best and was very pleasant to my mother I still tipped her at 25% of total (including tax) as I always do because the restaurant business is a difficult profession and even “okay” meals are appreciated.
Wish you much success in these...
Read moreOn a recent trip to the new Rhody Hen North Providence location, my daughter ordered an egg sandwich with no cheese. When the waitress brought her sandwich, it had cheese on it. My daughter told her that she had asked for no cheese. The waitress took the sandwich away. She returned with what seemed to be a new sandwich. Before taking a bite, my daughter, who is very careful regarding things that she is allergic to, had the pressence of mind to take a look at the sandwich to make sure there was no cheese. Sadly, she found that the cheese had been scraped off with a little cheese still remaining. After my daughter told me what had happened, I called and asked to speak to the owner. When I was told she wasn't there, I left a message about the incident and asked that she give me a call back. She has not. I was so disappointed, we really loved the Rhody Hen. How much effort does it take to respect someone's food allergies and make a fresh sandwich. ...
Read moreThis is so close to where we're staying it was a slam dunk to visit for the first time. The restaurant is along the right side of a strip mall, so there's ample parking. The interior is clean, but nothing is eye-catching.
We arrived for breakfast just before 9, and it is a seat yourself affair. My wife was in heaven with eight varieties of Eggs Benedict (Bennys) to choose from. I opted for the steak tips and eggs with home fries.
It wasn't busy at all, so we were able to get our order quickly. The presentation was very nice and equally delicious. My wife's comment on her "Benny" was "perfect."
I was very happy with my breakfast too and equally appreciated finding a steak and eggs combo for under $18. Overall, the service was excellent and food as...
