Bakery 57 — Restaurant in North Royalton

My husband loves carrot cake and I really wanted to get him one for his birthday. Thankfully, I found this bakery online! I purchased one at a great price and was so surprised at how delicious it tasted! It was moist and not too sweet, perfect carrot cake flavor. I also picked up two cookies, a red velvet and a confetti cookie as well as a sprinkle cupcake. The cookies were huge and at a great price too. They were better tasting than Crumbl cookies in my opinion. They were both soft in the middle and full of flavor. The best cookies I’ve had in a long time. I’m not a huge cupcake fan but this sprinkle one changed my mind. It was not too sweet, the frosting was light and airy. The cake was moist not dry at all like most cupcakes. They had a great selection of bakery items to choose from. I will definitely be coming back to try the pastries and donuts. The staff got my order ready fast and online ordering was simple. We had been coming here almost since they opened. Overall, very good baked goods. However, customer service is very poor. We ordered a cake for Easter and overnight in the fridge, the top layer separated and fell apart When I tried to call, no answering machine was available so when I finally got ahold of an employee later in the week, she was unpleasant, never apologized, and said I should have brought it in. I was told the owner would be notified but I never received a call.

When I stopped in person , the owner apologized briefly but did not offer any explanation for lack of return call or cake falling apart. My elderly mom bought the cake and was the only dessert planned for Easter. A nice gesture would have been a discount on future purchase as reimbursement was not able to be given

Stopped in today needing a last minute cake. They had cakes in the case and I asked if they were fresh and made daily. I was told they were so I chose a chocolate fudge cake for $38.00 and left feeling excited that I was able to get a beautiful cake last minute. Unfortunately my excitement quickly turned to disappointment, as the cake was stale, dry and tasted like it had been in a freezer too long, which I did not appreciate being told it was fresh and made today because clearly it was not and the cake went in the trash, my guests even commented on how stale it was.
