Capri's Pizza Of Whiting — Restaurant in North Township

I have been going to Capri's Pizza since the 70's on Commercial Avenue in Chicago and now in Whiting, Indiana and still go there every one or two weeks. Love their pizza and chicken. Cannot go wrong with their personal pizza if eating by yourself. I do... love their chicken. Only thing with the chicken pieces is when ordering out they are much smaller and priced higher than the competition, but... I still order the chicken because of the way it is made abd tastes.

They finally opened their dining area. Nice set up. The tables can probably be set up slightly better, but... doable. I do not mind the ordering and picking up food at counter if tge prices do not increase, but... not a plus fir person behind the counter as is decreases opportunity with tips.

List of things to work on if want the dining to be a hit...

Keep going after liquor license or if law permits, allow beer in cooler to be brought in Infact, beer is not necessary, but... must serve fountain drinks for large size cups if not willing to give refills Definitely need ice or at minimum provide access to cup with ice fir cold beverages with pizza and chicken - not refrigerated! Bring down the AC setting to a cooler level to make it comfortable to eat in Always need music - mix it up... 70's, 80's music. Get away from elevator music. Place a jukebox in there and allow customers to mix it up - of course at reasonable volume level Turn on the TV's and get sports games on

If servers are feasible, get em. In tge end will save plenty of negativety and increase the experience if going in and dining in at Capri's Pizza... now get them chicken...

Ordered yesterday for pickup they said it would be ready in 40mins arrived in 43mins & had to wait an additional 12-15mins for my order. They said they were waiting on my fries & cheese sticks. Got my food & everything was hardly luke warm, fries & cheese sticks were soggy & tasted microwaved. Sausage still contained a pink tint to it, which is pork & should have been cooked thoroughly. Pizza, fries & cheese sticks take 10 mins tops to actually make so I was confused why I was waiting for my order to come up after the 40mins I was told. Upon opening food in the car nothing was hot. Capris used to be my go to place, I drove two hours from Wisconsin to satisfy my cravings & was super disappointed. The staff was careless & I believe they allowed my food to sit out while I stood there 12-15mins waiting for them to hand it to me. They were not busy. I have been coming here for years & it’s sad to see this establishment go downhill with inconsistent customer service & disregard for food safety...

Dine in experience: ( how it was supposed to go) " Welcome to Capris pizza, may I help you? First time, ok step to this side and read the instructions for dining in. Someone will be at the counter to assist you." (How it went): " Picking up? (No, dining in) You know what you want? (No) Here are 2 menus, and you can come back to the counter when you decide." Don't expect great dine in service. We ordered, and the staff was mediocre, but have the potential to be friendly? They were hit and miss with different people as I sat and observed.. It is self-serve for your plastic wares. Food was delivered to our table. Pizza is higher quality than Domino's or Pizza Hut, but don't expect Giordanos or Edwardos quality. The chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside, but some pieces were drier than others. No seasoning could be detected. Everything was hot. I'm not sure if I will return. If I do, I may just pre-order...
