An Absolute Must-Visit!

I’m visiting for the first time and I have to say—this spot is a hidden gem! The food is incredible—well seasoned, full of flavor, and clearly made with love. The chicken is bursting with authentic Caribbean/Jamaican spices, with that “Kingsford”type grill and the side dishes are just as amazing with ALL the soul. You know how some soulful places get the entree right but the sides fall flat? Not here everything was on point!

What really made the experience stand out was the atmosphere and customer service. The owner himself was at the front taking orders, super respectful and kind. It’s always a great sign for ME when the owner is hands-on and connecting with customers he’s definitely doing it. The dining/lounge area is chill and laid-back, with soulful music playing and even a massage chair and a TV showing soulful movies. If you want that soul food without having to slave in the kitchen this is the place. YOU ALSO GET YOUR MONIES WORTH! They are not stingy. The vibe was everything.

It’s also clear they have a strong rapport with their regulars checking in on families, asking how people are doing I was so impressed. You can feel the community here.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting like me, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t regret it! Yah hear me you won’t and before I leave I’m going back to dine in and get in that massage chair and taking some back home. OK!

Five Stars for Flavor & Vibes at Ray’s Caribbean Jerk!

From the moment we walked in, the customer service at Ray’s Caribbean Jerk was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and full of good energy. They even offered us a sample of their jerk chicken, and wow—instant flavor explosion. We knew we were in for a treat.

We each ordered a dinner (which comes with rice and beans plus two sides). I went with the BBQ chicken tips paired with yams, baked mac n cheese, and the classic rice and beans. Every bite was soulful and satisfying—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

He had the jerk chicken tips with the same sides, and let’s just say there wasn’t a single bite left. The heat, the flavor, the tenderness—it’s exactly what you want from a jerk dish.

To wash it down, we sipped on Skipee’s Lemonade—I had the passion fruit strawberry, and he had the grape strawberry. Both were refreshing and packed with flavor.

We dined in Claude & Ray’s BoomBoom Room, which added a fun, laid-back vibe to the whole experience.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ray’s Caribbean Jerk in East Chicago, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The food was out of this world — we tried the jerk salmon dinner, jerk wings, mac and cheese, shrimp and grits, and the jerk chicken pizza, and everything was packed with flavor. The jerk seasoning was perfectly balanced, and the portions were generous.

Not only is the food fantastic, but the prices are very reasonable, making it a great spot for anyone. The customer service was also top-notch; the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed.

Ray’s Caribbean Jerk also has a private back entertainment room with a TV, recliners, and classic hip-hop tracks playing, making it a great place to relax and vibe out while enjoying your meal. Whether you’re dining solo, with family, or with friends, this place offers a safe and welcoming environment with plenty of parking.
