Romano's — Restaurant in North Township

I cannot believe I’ve never left a review 🤦‍♂️😂 I absolutely LOVE Romanos!! Anyone who knows me, knows about Romanos…lol. Hands down, the absolute very best hoagie ever made..by far!! I have been eating here for 40 years. My entire family has been eating at Romanos for generations. In fact, my dad even started a family tradition…whenever a baby is born into the family, it is a must that the mother is given a hoagie in the hospital..lol..true story! Sadly, we moved away from this wonderful restaurant nearly 30 years ago 😢 but we still frequently travel over 50 miles (one way) just to satisfy our original hoagie cravings…I literally just had one yesterday and brought home a box of their frozen hoagies for times when we can’t make the drive. Yes! It’s that good! Great service, Great food!! Honestly, if you haven’t tried Romanos, you’re missing out…do yourself a favor and order a hoagie or 10, you won’t be...

Romano's is just is not what it used to be. I'm not sure if under new management, but I believe the original owner's son is now the in charge. As a child, we would come to Griffith from Portage and get Ham Hoagies from the original Romano's, as long as I can remember. My dad loved them. Now as an adult I live in Griffith, I loved Romano's and have ordered it numerous times. This last time, I inquired about a coupon, when the owner told me they were no longer accepted and hung up on me. I was so shocked that I was not even offered to place my order I called back. When explaining to the owner how much I loved his hoagies and what they meant to me in childhood memories, he cut me off and said do you want to order or want me to hang up again. NO CUSTOMER APPRECIATION AT ALL...everyone has said it's not the same. SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!! Lost a customer he would have...

There's a few pizza places on Broad in Griffith,and Romano's is a hidden gem! Theyre located in what was Sopranos, claiming to be Home of the Hoagie, they also have some pretty dynamite pizza that I recommend.

Not quite thin crust,not quite thin. Cheese has a salty flavor to it(not overwhelming) and compliments the flavor of the sauce very well,which isn't too sweet or tangy. They also offer the option to get your pizza with garlic crust which made the end of each pizza crust taste exactly like garlic bread crust! Rad.

Definitely somewhere I will order...
