The food is fresh and hot. The chicken is so tender that if you had no teeth or mouth problems you could eat it with no issues. I'm surprised how tender it is for white chicken meat. This food is definitely fresh and the chicken has a plain breading on it. The bit of spice is in the dip they give you. It tastes like it may have some celery spice in it. The sauce is tangy. The cole slaw is not overkill either and very mild. This is good if you can't handle a lot of seasoning in your food. I know they just opened up approximately one and a half weeks ago. The prices are high; however, prices everywhere are high anymore it seems. That being said, they do offer a military discount. The staff was friendly and welcomed me to the restaurant. The place is clean. I don't have any complaints honestly. I do wish the prices were a tad lower. They do have some type of rewards system from what I was informed and you have to register your email for it. It is not like a rewards redemption program, but rewards when they send you rewards out to your email. -------------------------------------------------------------- January 2, 2024 - I want to date and time stamp what I put after my original review more for historical documentation to see if anything at all changes down the road. Cane's is spelled as you see it here now as in Cane with a possessive 's like in Candy Cane's. Now, it does not have a letter i in it to read Caine's. You might be thinking of the Caniac Combo. I am saying this because a lot of "things" have changed where the originals of things cannot even be located historically. Sometimes you will be lucky to find "residue" of what you have always known. So, don't let your memories fade away on you and hold on tightly to what you know they are for you. Remember that it is Cane's without the letter i in it. Those of us who see things happening and are alert to it will do our best to make time and date stamps as evidence of any changes so you know that you are not going crazy. If Cane's changes and you see people looking at you funny saying it has always had a letter i in it just know that it is your evidence you switched over to another universe and are not in your original one any longer. Something did happen, but we (those of us effected) are not sure what is causing the ripple effect. --------------------------------------------------------------

Edit 3/17/2025 : heading home from a long morning and decided to give canes another try. Never got the vouchers for last issue. But we wanted to grab something quick and said let's just stop. 1 car in drive thru. We make our way thru and order. Fast, polite, hopefully we get the correct order. Then get greeted with Felicia hanging out the window talking to the same car from when we pulled thru. Waited roughly 8 minutes I timed watching her talk to that car still with the car still between us. We pulled out and left. Seems the normal trash in the area has infiltrated and the employment isn't as top notch as they claim. This was my initial fear for them as with anything in this area. Wendy's across the street gave me a nugget that had a bite out of it. Lesson is no matter the establishment, if it hires the very local talent, it will not make it. You can't just hire a pulse. Edit 9/10/2024 : They never made right and sent me vouchers as promised. Haven't been back, and will not return indefinitely now. They don't want our business I guess. Edit 7/2/2024 : after my last visit they contacted me about it. I played nice, and they said they'd report the feedback and send me some vouchers to make up for it..... Never came. Seems this location will suffer the same fate as Ronald right next door. This is a booming hub, but if you continue to hire the local yinzers, major successes can still fail. Call me if you're hiring, scouting locations is obviously a weak point. Well, I just spend $19 for some chicken strips and a piece of bread. Asked for extra fries instead of coleslaw... So you gave me coleslaw and no fries. Times are too tight these days to let that slide, and I'm not sure how you screw up that badly unless it's spiteful when there's literally 3 items on the menu. So this will be my last visit to this location unfortunately. That's a real let down cuz this location is literally less than half mile from our home, so it was becoming our regular go to.

I've been enjoying the new chicken places coming to Pittsburgh lately. First Layne's and Popeyes, now Raising Cane's. Growing up we only had KFC and Chick-fil-A, so it's been expanding a lot recently. Like most new restaurants it has a modern look and feel, but thankfully takes after Layne's and Popeyes with a colorful and eye catching interior, and not McDonalds which is entirely gray and lifeless. Disco balls, stool seats, and framed pictures adorn the seating area. Even Pittsburgh magnets and items at the drink station to give it some local flair and not feel too cookie cutter. The food was a similar offering to Layne's: 4 chicken strips, fries, garlic toast, a small side of coleslaw, and lemonade. The chicken came in a standard coating with Canes sauce, pretty good since I normally go for ketchup or bbq. Everything was pretty good! My only complaint is that I would have preferred the fries and toast to be crispier, especially since the toast was so thick it was too close to bread without much crunch at all. Perhaps a bit more of a garlicky coating brushed on to make it a true Texas toast/garlic bread.

Everyone needs to calm down and have some perspective. Have you ever been to that McDonald's across the parking lot that just closed permanently? If you have then you know that we have been dire straits for a competent fast food place in our area, especially something new or different.

Was the food mid? Yes. Let me break it down......the chicken is stupid fresh, nice breading that's not too crunchy but is not very salty or flavorful although it is very juicy and fresh. The fries are super basic with little to no seasoning. The bread is fantastic. Cole slaw is cole slaw. That brings us to the sauce, I was expecting something otherworldly and it was like a vinegary thousand island or a basic russian dressing that is a little salty. At first I was very disappointed with my thousand island/russian dressing sauce, but then I realized the sauce goes with the main 3 pieces of your meal. Is it perfect? No. But it compliments the food very well. You cant have salty chicken, salty fries and bread to dip into even more salty sauce.

The salty russian dressing/thousand island sauce makes it all work. The sauce alone is not great but works well with the other stuff.

This place is basic. Chicken tenders, fries, cole slaw, drinks and toast.

The place was packed, double drive thru to goodwill so I went inside and it was only around 10m-15m to wait for very fresh and made to order chicken. They gave me all the extras I requested and did not make any mistakes.

Not only was everyone smiling and nice, but they got my order right, it wasnt too long and it was done well overall. Now compare that to that McDonald's we have been dealing with for years.

You want this to go away or want that McDonald's to reopen? Have some perspective in regards to where we live and the workers available to work there. I will absolutely be back.

It wasnt the best but it was way way way better than that McDonald's and the BK right there. But yall gotta keep that same energy in 6 month when it dies down. This is your fair warning. This is Pittsburgh, as you can tell, we dont really hold back. Change up those attitudes and we will close you down. Period.

Good job. I enjoyed it for what it was. It's not a gourmet chicken place,...
