As a local and frequent patron of Starrs Pizza, I am disheartened to report an extremely disappointing experience that has left a sour taste in our mouths, quite apart from their usually delightful offerings.
We ordered two pizzas, including a Margherita, in line with my vegetarian preferences. Unfortunately, we received a meat pizza instead. Mistakes happen, and we understand that. We called the restaurant to rectify the error and were initially met with a promising response. They acknowledged the oversight and assured us that the correct pizza was on its way.
However, the situation quickly deteriorated. We received a call back insisting that we return the incorrect pizza upon delivery of the new one. This was surprising and felt quite odd, as it's common practice in the hospitality industry to offer the mistaken item as compensation for the inconvenience caused. Their request came with an insinuation that we were attempting to scam a free meal, which was both unfounded and offensive.
Our conversation with the staff escalated to a point where we felt compelled to speak with a manager, hoping for some understanding or at least professional courtesy. Unfortunately, the manager mirrored the employee's rudeness and unyielding stance. We attempted to negotiate some form of compensation for the trouble, such as a refund of our generous $22 tip or even just the pizza being comped, but to no avail. The best they could do was a paltry 15% off on a future order – an offer that holds no value to us now, given the circumstances.
To add insult to injury, the correct pizza arrived an hour later than promised, and we were indeed required to hand over the meat pizza, which felt more like a transaction than a service recovery.
This was by far the worst customer service experience we've ever encountered. It's particularly disappointing because we have genuinely enjoyed Starrs Pizza in the past and were enthusiastic about supporting a local business. Unfortunately, after this incident, we cannot see ourselves returning. A simple gesture of goodwill would have gone a long way, but instead, we are left with no choice but to look elsewhere for our pizza cravings.
Starrs Pizza, you've not only lost a pizza tonight, but also loyal customers.

Read moreOur recent experience with Starr's Pizza left much to be desired, to say the least. What should have been a simple and enjoyable meal turned into a frustrating ordeal that left us feeling unheard and disrespected.
First and foremost, the wait time for our delivery was excessively long. After eagerly anticipating our order, we were dismayed to find that not only did Starr's Pizza fail to deliver promptly, but they also managed to deliver the wrong pizza altogether. It was a disheartening start to our dining experience, to say the least.
However, what truly compounded our disappointment was the abysmal customer service we encountered when attempting to rectify the situation. Upon calling to inform them of their mistake, instead of offering an apology or attempting to make amends, we were met with hostility and incredulity. The representative on the other end of the line not only refused to acknowledge the error but went so far as to insinuate that we were fabricating the situation. Their demand for proof, coupled with their insistence that we return the incorrect pizza—a pizza that had been sitting open and untouched on our counter for a substantial period—was not only impractical but utterly absurd.
To add insult to injury, Starr's Pizza offered us zero compensation for their mistake. Instead of owning up to their error and attempting to salvage the situation, they chose to berate us, with both my wife and I subjected to unnecessary yelling and condescension over the phone.
In summary, our experience with Starr's Pizza was nothing short of disappointing. From the prolonged wait time to the delivery of the wrong order, and finally, the atrocious customer service, it was a sequence of failures that left us feeling frustrated and disheartened. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Starr's Pizza, and we strongly caution others against patronizing this...
Read more“Starr’s pizza!” Or as I like to call it… “Does anyone in there know how to make a pizza?!” The best thing on their online menu is the back button….. When you type Starr’s pizza into the address bar there should be an automatic pop up that says ‘Malicious site! Go back to safety!’ I ordered a Margherita pizza….Pretty hard to screw up, right? Weeeelllllllllllllll let me tell you something! I saw their online menu with a beautiful picture that had a wonderfully cooked pizza with gorgeous chunks of Mozzarella, sprinkled with lush fresh Basil picked straight from the garden. What I got was something that resembled an undercooked piece of matzah, covered in some Aldi’s store brand grated Mozzarella, aided by huge slices of GMO tomatoes fresh off their ten month voyage via the Wuhan veggie market! To top it off I did receive several flakes of dried basil to give it that anti Jackson Pollock feel. Unfortunately for Starr’s there are too many other decent Pizza joints around to want to give this place...
