This place appears to have been here a long time. The Diner is accessible and visible from the road on Route 20 across from the Northborough Department of Public Works

The Diner is nicely painted both inside and out. The staff is friendly. It has a family atmosphere. Everyone speaks loudly once inside. You can sit at the counter with swivel chairs or sit at a table.

Customers BEWARE.

1)This is NOT a handicapped friendly establishment. There are NO designated close to the entrance handicapped exclusive parking spots. It is first come first serve. 2) CASH ONLY, NO credit or debit cards(they have an ATM that charges almost 3 dollars per transaction) 3) The Food is bland. Bring some condiments in your pocket. Our toast was virtually dry, skimpy on the butter. 4) Coffee, hmmm bland as well. 5) It is pretty busy and our order took longer that expected.

This business has all of the ingredients to be great. Needs a lot of improvement though. We Love to promote local business and we sample many places in the area. I haven't given a business only two Stars but this one needs improvement in many areas.

I do not recommend Chet's but if you're just looking to visit friends once a week, I'm sure it's ok to sit and warm the chair for an hour or less. Leave your handicapped relative at home.

On a positive note, the food was delivered hot. The Waitress was awesome and the bathrooms and the dining room were spotless and clean. Bathrooms are NOT handicapped friendly either and the hand soap is watered down. Skimpy on Butter and Handsoap. Hmmm?

Don't think we will be back. But Thank You for treating us good. The establishment is definitely welcoming from the minute you enter the door. Friendly People indeed.

Sorry for the...

In Northborough's heart, a beacon bright, Chet's Diner stands, a morning's delight. Since 1931, its chrome gleams bold, A haven for stories, both young and old.

Step through the door, greeted by warmth, The scent of coffee, a breakfast storm. Red vinyl booths and a counter long, Where waitresses hustle with mugs and song.

The stools, well-worn, with a friendly sigh, Hold countless dreams that have drifted by. Truckers and townsfolk, a daily blend, Sharing news 'til the very last crumb transcends.

On the counter, a sprinkle of sunlight falls, Illuminating chipped mugs on the red Formica walls. A worn menu, its pages dog-eared and wise, Promises comfort with each breakfast sunrise.

Homemade hash, a glorious mound, Scrambled eggs, fluffy and golden brown. Pancakes that tower, a buttermilk dream, Syrup cascading, a sugary stream.

Bacon that sizzles, a crispy delight, Sausage links gleaming, oh what a sight! Coffee bottomless, strong and dark, Fueling the morning, leaving its mark.

More than just breakfast, a feeling it brings, Of community spirit, the joy that it sings. Jessica, the owner, with smile so bright, Keeps the tradition burning ever so light.

Nancy Pantazis, a legend they say, Carried the torch in a bygone day. The Strazero family, before her time, Each adding a verse to this diner's rhyme.

Chet's Diner, a landmark it stands, A testament to time, held strong in our hands. May its chrome shine on, a beacon so true, A taste of nostalgia,...

Everything that's right about local diners.

The first thing I noticed was how well they knew their clientele. They clearly know their regulars, but made us welcome. The waitress took her time with us and made sure we got exactly what we wanted.

The food was everything I would have wanted, aside from the toast being a little darker than I like, but then I like my toast light and I didn't share that information, so 100% my fault.

I had a pancake with blueberries which was huge and delicious. I also had eggs and bacon. I admit I am not an American bacon fan, but this super thin bacon was SO tasty. I also had my daughter's sausage links she didn't want, and they were very nice too. The coffee was very good!

The waitress was busy as this place stays full all the time it seems, but she was attentive and friendly. Food took a little while, but wasn't excessive.

The cook was outspoken and full of energy which gave the place a lovely feel and made any wait we had kind of fun

It's cash only, but there is an ATM inside. Their hours are weekday only and they close at 11, so make sure you get there in time and I am sure you...

Five stars for being a great example of its genre but all five would be fairly earned just for the blueberry pancakes. We've lived up the road for years, and never thought to get here before they close at 11 a.m. We won't make that mistake any more. All they do is breakfast and they do it astonishingly well. Besides the plate sized pancakes, my Greek omelet was scrumptious and the fresh ingredients included whole leaves of spinach. And a word here about the energy of the place: the staff works hard, and they're obviously having fun and committed to producing quality meals for a clientele they largely know and love. A visit to Chet's Diner will brighten your day!

Chet's Diner (since 1931) is a great local spot for breakfast and bit of comedy. The local Northborough cast of characters sit at the counter and are in almost constant banter with the Cook, (owner Jessica Fidrych), and waitresses. It's quite a show to watch! I come here almost every morning Mon-Sat for breakfast. The bottomless cup of great coffee, perfect food and a price of under $10 including tip is a strong combination. This is a classic old time diner where all the locals go. (Breakfast only 6 am to 11:00 am) Oh, and did you recognize Jessica's last name? Mark "TheBird" Fidrych, MVP pitcher was her dad. Lots of cool memorabilia on the walls.

We sat at the counter where the locals sat. It was like stepping back in time. Jessica, the owner and chef, knew what she was doing. She was like a bee buzzing around the grill. She prepped and cooked all the meals. She was amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was great. My sister loved her eggs and ham. I had French toast that was out of this world. We found this place by chance but will be back there again. If you come, sit at the counter just to watch Jessica do get magic. (Ps. Her father was a famous MLB pitcher who stops in every one in awhile to help out)
