Vina's Pizza — Restaurant in Northborough

I had the good fortune of finding Vina's this past weekend when I was in Marlborough for an event.

I visited Friday night a little after 10 to find they were closing. Apparently, their hours on Google were incorrect and they close an hour prior to what was listed. Much to my delight and relief, they were willing to make me a pizza anyways. Good call on their part because that pizza was so good that it inspired me to write this review and come back for seconds a couple of days later on my last day in town.

So why did I like them so much? While it's true that the people there treated me really well, that alone isn't enough to get five stars out of me. The food has got to be very good to excellent at a fair price. On that front, Vina's succeeds as well.

They are among the few pizza purveyors who know how to create a crust that, when requested just a little well done, will be a little crispy on the bottom but chewy in the middle without getting burnt. The cheese is of high quality while not being overpowering. No need to order extra cheese--it may not look like they put much on but it cooks up to a filling amount quite nicely. At about $7 for a plain small cheese, the price is kind on your wallet, as well.

If I find myself in the Marlborough/Northborough area again, Vina's will definitely be my first choice! If you like thin or New Haven or New York style pizza, it will probably be as close as you're going to get to any of those in this area without hitting up a Regina's or Polcari's location (at nearly...

Pizza is outstanding. Definitely not the typical New England Greek pizza, thankfully! Close to NY style. Better flavor and better ingredients than you'll find at any Domino's, or Pizza Hut, etc.

Sandwiches are spectacular and tasty. Onion rings are delicious (breaded, not battered). Salads are mostly iceberg lettuce but at least it's fresh and crisp. Carrot cake and tiramisu are shockingly good (I mean, who ever heard of a place like this with great desserts?).

And to top it all off, they do their own delivery. No more wrangling with DoorDash, Uber Eats, or others of that ilk. Delivery for me has always been incredibly prompt.

I'm not one to write reviews but I always ordered from here and this was a terrible experience. My order came wrong so I called to let them know. The man on the phone was beyond rude and raised his voice at me and told me I was the one who said it wrong (false) when he could have simply fixed the mistake. He then told me he'd send a new one and hung up on me. At this point I was not interested, I called back and let him know that it was very rude of him and his response was "I'm busy I can't talk to you on the phone all day". At this point I asked for a refund and told him there was no need to send the correct order I would just give the food back that came wrong and he laughed at me.
