Macushla Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Northfield Township

Great little place serving some of the best tasting beers in the microbrewery industry. The beers and the atmosphere at this place are a 5 star rating all day long. The service is definitely not..... if they're slightly busy you encounter a long wait line just to get a beer. Once you get to the bartender at the bar, you feel rushed if you're not familiar with their beer menu due to the long line of people behind you waiting for a beer. I'm not blaming the employee for that, it's the owner's fault. They had only one person running the whole entire place on a super busy Thursday night. The poor employee was bartending, closing people's open tabs, also picking up glasses from tables and washing them... all while bartending to an almost full establishment, that's insane. I hope they hire more people and schedule at least two people in the afternoon to evening hours, so their clients can have a much better full rounded experience. The system they have in place is terrible for volume sales, what they don't realize is the amount of people that just leave because it takes too long to get service, I was one of them. Not only does it takes too long to get a beer... but it also takes too long just to close your open tab at the bar because you have to get in line. I hope that by the next time I stop by, they have implemented a better service...

Another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Can be a bit hard to track at first but literally on the same lot as Hackney's on Lake. First came to this brewery back in early 2018 and because the owner is a Regina Dominican Alum like I am, you know I had to support the biz. Beer-wise, I am a sours, saison, type of drinker, and that is definitely what a majority of their brews were. Fast forward to present day, 5 years later, you can tell they have definitely spread a bit out more which is nice. Super cool brewery with an awesome outdoor space that’s perfect for hanging out. It was busy when we went, which gave it such a fun energy, especially with their great lineup of live bands.

The beers are excellent—standouts for me were the Lite Lager, which is absolutely killer and light years ahead of any other low-calorie beer I’ve had. Totally a guilt-free indulgence. The Holla Peno IPA is a must-try: a hazy jalapeño beer that still manages to deliver that citrusy IPA vibe. Unique, refreshing, and seriously impressive.

Macushla Brewing nails the atmosphere, the beer, and the vibe. Can’t wait...
