Love this restaurant! My husband and I had dinner here this evening. We wanted Japanese and something different. We’d heard a few friends says it was good, so decided to give it a try and boy are we glad we did! I wouldn’t just say it’s the best Japanese/sushi we’ve had, although it was, we both agree it was, but is was the best meal we’ve had in quite a while! We underestimated Dear Osaka Japanese Bistro 100%! I think we may have formed a premature opinion based on the former restaurant and it is a totally different experience. Everything was top notch. Love the option to pay a certain price for all you can eat. Now, let me ephasize🙂, this is not buffet or even close. It’s more of a small plates, exquisitely prepared choice of sushi, appetizers and entrees. You order as you go and they just bring each menu choice out as it gets beautifully prepared and plated, fresh and steaming hot. You can make your choices as you go along deciding which delectable you want to try next and if your eyes end up bigger than your bellies, like ours did, lol. No worries, they will package it up and let you take it for a small extra fee. Totally worth it. We felt like we dined in a $50 a plate fine restaurant for about that for both of us and we loved every single bite, just absolutely delicious! We have a new favorite place to eat. Also, the decor is beautiful and cozy! They also have Boba tea and other Boba drinks. We had the crab and cheese wontons, fantastic with a hint of sweetness, a rock n roll sushi, hubs had mixed hibachi with saiteed veggies and rice. I had the authentic freshly prepared mixed ramen(a first for me and 🤯 SO good) we then decided we had to try the Godzilla roll, also awesome and I couldn’t leave without one of my all time favs, sweet carrots😋 Michell the owner brought us some tempura shrimp and you guessed it, delicious! If you haven’t tried this Restaurant, don’t wait another day. Make plans and go. You won’t be sorry, it was a fun and delicious experience and we can’t wait to go...
Read moreProbably the worst meal I have had eating out in at least ten years. Applebees would have been better, at least I could have gotten a beer. Seriously. Service took forever and the server lost our order- even after the order was put in it took forever and still wasn’t right. Only time I’ve ever had seaweed salad served on lettuce- that way the small portion looks bigger. I love sushi and have eaten it all over, this was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. Food City has significantly better sushi not to mention what you’d get at an actual Japanese restaurant. The fish was cut thin, very low grade, and sparingly used. I don’t even think they use actual sushi rice, the rolls and rice didn’t hold together like they do with real sushi rice. The rolls came out slathered in some disgusting mayonnaise sauce that wasn’t mentioned on the menu. When a place does something like that they are usually trying to cover something up. There was something they claimed was spicy tuna on one of the rolls- it was neither spicy nor tuna from what I could tell. It had the red color of old food coloring and look of reconstituted cardboard. Tempura shrimp is a staple at any Japanese restaurant, tempura batter is very light when done right, needless to say this was not really tempura, the shrimp looked like generic breaded shrimp from the cheap section of the Sysco catalog (and I mean no disrespect to Sysco). Will never go back- so bad I couldn’t bring myself to tip more than 10%, and I can’t remember the last time I didn’t at...
Read moreI AM SHOCKED!!! 🩷 Seth and I went to Norton, VA today and came across this little Japanese restaurant that we never really noticed before. It's called Dear Osaka Japanese Bistro; the outside didn't really look like much but the second we came through the doors we were so astounded by how beautiful this little place was! Immediately we were greeted by an incredibly friendly female worker who helped me figure out what my first boba tea would be lol. The interior was so adorable. Now THE FOOD! We, in total, paid 64 dollars in total for 1 boba tea with yoghurt balls (i can't remember what it was called BUT IT TASTED LIKE CAPTAIN CRUNCH, 2 hibachi chicken orders (with chicken, fried rice, fried vegetables, and miso soup), 1 order of crab rangoon (6 pieces), 1 order of fried mushrooms (16 pieces), and 1 order of Pork Broth Shrimp Ramen (included hard boiled egg, corn, mushroom, etc.) Everything was SO GOOD and we had a lot to take home! Seth and I can be a little picky but we loved everything they had there, and I can't believe that out of all the times we went to Norton we never stopped here before! I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place if you enjoy Japanese food 💞 We will...
