BJ Ryan's — Restaurant in Norwalk

What a wonderful establishment! From the outside you are greeted by the old world Norwalk charm and continues on into the interior design. Wood trim, early twentieth century looking bar with modern touches, and a funky old floorplan that only exists in old cities. We were greeted by a server who was incredibly friendly and had the overwhelming task of working the bar and waiting tables at lunch time. She handled it with ease and charm. I ordered the BBQ rack of ribs which were absolutely amazing and gigantic! They came with a side of coleslaw, great, and shoestring fries, average fries. I would grab a rib and it would just slide out of the meat, now that's what I call tender. The ends were nice a crispy but moist inside. The BBQ sauce was unique and full of flavor. My mother had the Cobb salad which was one of the best I have seen in years. For dessert my mother had a cappuccino which she said was the best she ever had. i always frequent both bj ryans locations, and at this point i have to admit that the bj ryans on main ave definitely over charges you for drinks, i go back and forth between the bj ryans east location and always order the same drinks, and magically the by ryans location on main ave always claims i ordered more drinks than i actually did, which is why my tab is always significantly less at the by ryans east location, from now on i refuse to go to the main ave location because they screw me over, be wary of this bar, they will double charge you for drinks, and ive had friends who experienced the same difficulty, at first i didnt want to believe them but now i cant deny the truth, but screw this place and...

One of those places that you want to like, but it just doesn't cut it. Probably should have been tipped off by the fact that is was empty, but for a few bar flies, at 7:00 on a Friday night. Wife and I shared the "Cape Cod fried clams" appetizer off of the daily specials menu. I actually liked the batter, but didn't care for the clams. NY Strip sandwich was unexciting as well.
