Went here last night for new year's Eve dinner.. Horrible mistake. First we had 3 different servers. Second when asked for bread he put mine on my plate and my girlfriends on the actual table and walked away. Third when he came back I asked for parmesan cheese. When he brought it there was mold on it. When I placed my order I asked for every plate to come out one after another so they wouldn't be smothering the table, and still hot when we where ready to eat. They messed that up too. Mussels came out which where ok. Once we're where done we waited 10 mins for our next plate. Their was only 2 other tables in the restaurant. Next we where supposed to get the ceviche. Instead we got the chorizo which was not that great. As soon as that hit the table the same guy turned around and brought the empanadas. I explained to him that the guy who took our order was going to have everything come out one by one. So clearly they made everything at once anyway. I asked him if he was going to be giving me the same empanadas or new ones he said new ones and started to walk away. When he turned around he put it on another table and told them it was a mistake and on the house. I laughed. As he was walking away from that table the second guy brought or the ceviche, so at this point we only took like one bite of the chorizo. They argued in the middle of the dining room for a brief second then returned to the kitchen. When we finished the chorizo we waited another 10 mins. The guy came over to upsell us on wine which we already said we were ok with at the moment. I asked where are other plate was, he said "ohhh are you done" very sarcastically.. Now he brings out the ceviche again. It looked promising until my girlfriend found out the Shrimp was completely raw... I got up and told her let's go. When we went to the front to pay for our wine. He got pissed and took the ceviche said don't worry about it happy new year. Our visit was not good at all... PS I wrote this at 7 in the morning still pissed about dinner the...

I arrived before they opened for dinner but they kindly seated me anyway. The waitperson helped me order a glass of wine which turned out to be a delicious Rioja rated 92 by Wine Spectator. 2016 Marques de Caceres Reserva. Even at $15 a glass, a really good value and a welcome surprise.
I ordered a salad with roasted red pepper, mozzarella, tomatoes and olive oil served over fresh, crisp lettuce. It couldn't have been more refreshing. The waiter suggested the shrimp with pureed cici beans. The pureed beans were well seasoned with flavors I couldn't quite discern but were very interesting and I would have gladly eaten more. The six shrimp were perfectly charred but still moist and tender and garnished with strips of plantain. I think the plate was $12.95. Amazing.
I had the orange flan for dessert, which came with strips of orange peel marmalade and flavored with anise. I'm glad I ordered it. $6.00.
I ate alone in the bar which was really beautiful and casual. The service was wonderful, the chef obviously a real pro and the prices were extremely low for the quality of food they serve.
Dining at Paella was an unexpected treasure that I found by accident in a city I had never been to before. It was the kind of meal you hope for when you go to a restaurant for the first time. What a stroke of good fortune. I can't...
Read moreWe decided to try this restaurant b/c it was closer than the one we planned on and it was a great decision! We ate early so there was only one other table occupied in the bar area, which still felt intimate. By the time we left, the dining room and bar had more people so it's a familiar restaurant for many. We went with the tapas option and a salad to split and they were all good. The bread roll they brought out was also fabulous. We asked for a 2nd and that one was warm and crusty. We split a salad of Beefsteak tomato and mozzarella salad that was tasty, a nice Tortilla Española, Chicken skewers (Pintxos) that were amazing and the Calamari, which, honestly, could have been warmer and was just ok. We also each had a dessert, Chocolate cheesecake and Spanish Rice Pudding. They were both good but I wasn't wowed. I had a glass of wine and the grand total was under $70 without tip which was a bargain as far as I'm concerned. Overall, a very nice atmosphere. Much less hectic and loud than other restaurants and the staff was warm and kind and we didn't feel rushed to leave. There are many more things to try and I look forward...
