This place needs to make up its mind wether it is a bar or BBQ restaurant. The decor is nice. The server is friendly. But the food is not very good. For an appitizer we tried the eggrolls. The outside was hot but the pork and veggies were still cold on the inside. Which leads me to believe they are premade and either frozen or refrigerated for god only knows how long. Tge other option which makes me think the cook doesn't care to check the frier temp and it is way to hot cooking the outside not the inside of the dish. I ordered the Cuban with fries and it was not good. Placing seeded mustard on a sandwich with bad ham and the exact same pork used in the eggrolls. Same issue inside cool but the outside was slightly burnt this time. What concerned me was the waitress served me my plate and apologized! That's NEVER a good sign! She said the fries were very over cooked and if I wanted she could take them back and get new ones. If you knew they were wrong why serve them in the first place? Shouldn't every dish not be allowed to leave the kitchen until it is checked by someone? My husband ordered the brisket. Although it was not appetizing to look at it was okay. The beans were not good he had gotten for his side. It was baked beans with bbq sauce in them and a fork of that same pulled pork ontop. Very disappointed. I hope they make better drinks than food. Maybe they should concentrate on that and leave the food to the professionals. We spent $50 on half a brisket sandwich and 2 eggrolls because that's what was edible and went to McDonald's for dinner. With so many choices they are not making it a hard decision to skip BJ Ryan's Banc House.

I was recommended to eat here by a buddy of mine who said the best BBQ spot around. Now, when I went, it was around 12p. on a Friday. Friendly staff, but the food was slightly warm, not really hot as if it was freshly made. I sat on the outside, which has a nice vibe, but the chairs are really not made for the slightly overweight person. Never encountered that at a restaurant. It was me and two others, which they agreed the chairs were very uncomfortable to sit in on the exterior. The food was a 7 out of 10 in my books. I have to try it again as my first experience wasn't what I thought it would be. The waiter forgot to put in the order for my buddy, which made it disrespectful for my other buddy and I to start eating when our food arrived at the table. I really do think I have to give this restaurant another shot as I think it was just a bad day.

Met some friends here when they were in town for Parent's weekend. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I arrived ahead of everyone else and they allowed me to go straight to the table. My friends arrived and our server showed her personality. Noel. Jokes were made about 'the first Noel' and she responded with expertise! The group got appetizers such as fried broccoli and fried pickles. (PICS) They were awesome. I opted for the pulled chicken sandwich which was very nicely smoked and tasty. (ALSO PIC) I piled the chicken on the bun with the included cole slaw, which was flavorful, but the bun folded with all that moisture. That's my only negative. Very small negative all in all. I loved the whole experience, our server, and the food was wonderful. Definitely will go back!!!

This was our first time visiting BanC house, and we were impressed with so many things here! First, the menu is incredible. There are so many great choices, some unique ones at that, and it was nice to see how many gluten-friendly options there were too. Whether you’re looking for BBQ or seafood, you’re in for a treat. Everything is fresh, and the portions are extremely generous for the price! We felt like we were eating somewhere down south with how exceptional the bbq dishes were. The service also stood out to us - not only were the servers attentive, but we also tried the crab legs, and the they were kind enough to show us the best way to eat them. Very nice vibe in the dining room, and the covered patio and bar areas looked cozy too. All around a great experience!

Loved the idea of a bbq/seafood fusion, unfortunately our first visit was a let down. We ordered the crab cakes, hot lobster roll and the Asian short rib. Only one we would order again would be the beef. Lobster roll was $37 for 4oz with a few pieces of cartilage in the meat, no good pieces and dry. Crab cakes reminded us of thanksgiving stuffing with minimal small pieces of crab here and there. Potatoes with the short rib needed more butter and came out not that warm, same as the carrots, bourbon was overkill on carrots as well. The short rib and the sauce on that was very good, otherwise rather bummed for what we paid for. Also, wasn’t busy but plates took long to get picked up off the table, making the table cluttered. Atmosphere and music were enjoyable.

I find Banc House to be very hit or miss. The oysters are usually nice and big but they give them to you unlabeled so good luck guessing which one is which. I got a combo with crab legs and lazy bacon, the crab legs were great but the lazy bacon (pork belly) was hard and overcooked. Another time, I had a seasonal mixed drink but there was so much vodka I could barely drink it. The crabby pretzels were tasty. The lobster roll could have been better. The ice cream cookie sandwiches we had for dessert were really disappointing, they claimed to be homemade but they seemed store bought. I'll go back because I enjoy the atmosphere but be careful what you order because it'll be either amazing or disappointing.
