The date is 02.15.25 (Saturday evening) and it's 810pm. When it comes down to Family Restaurants, I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I just cant get over the service issue. So the reason for the one star is mostly because of the service. In regards to the food, I wouldnt say it was the best but definitely not the worst.
When my partner and I arrived, we were seated by the hostesses who was walking and talking to another customer at the same time. As we were walking to the table her voice got louder and louder. And to be told "so like here...or there??" (Talk about rude!) ...so the waitress came fairly quick and took our order; I ordered Eggs Benedict w/Canadian Ham (which she asked, with ham or sausage) and hash browns (which she asked hash browns or o'briens), side order of corned beef hash, and banana nut pancakes. My partner ordered a pastrami sandwich on sourdough with chili cheese fries. As we were waiting for our food, another customer came in (whom I assume is a regular) sat behind us. I would like to point out that there were three tables in the whole restaurant that were occupied. As we were sitting, we noticed the hostess (whom was loud and even using profanity) along with another female waitress entertaining him and sitting at his table. (I don't mind profanity cause everyone uses it BUT I do mind when you're using it loudly in a family restaurant.) So our food came, I got the banana pancakes, side of hash browns, side of corned beef hash and the pastrami sandwich on rye bread. We sent the sandwich back because we wanted it on sourdough. 20 to 25 minutes pass and no sign of our waitress. Then I started to notice the table behind us getting food and even fries! (Not to mention that now, my hash browns are cold..) Then I realized, "wow...I think they forgot the chili cheese fries and my eggs Benedict." Sure enough, they did!
When the waitress brought us our bill, we told her she forgot main items to our order (chili cheese fries and eggs benedict" Her response was "ohh...we have a new cook..." then it was "oh I thought the girl who brought you the food brought it all....ughh they're supposed to be helping me"...and "ohh they closed out your tab...".if I'm not mistaken, I believe it's your job as a waitress to come and check if we got everything or if we need anything else! But whom am I to say, I'm just a customer!
Probably won't be...
Read moreDecided to try out this eatery for breakfast. Upon entering the restaurant we were seated by the hostess. While looking over the menu and setting them aside as we knew what we were going to order, at this point two women came in and were seated across from us. The waiter immediately brought them water and took their order. We were still waiting to have him take our order and we had been there 10 minutes. He left the ladies and finally came back to us, he rushed the order too. When I told him I wanted machaca con huevos - he asked me how I wanted my eggs...😳 Ummm, scrambled in with meat and spices. He realized and then asked the type of tortilla I wanted. We had to tell him we wanted juice, before he walked away and he didn't ask us. It was like he didn't want to wait on us? He brought the 2 ladies water, coffee, and citrus sliced up with a bottle of dried peppers. He then brought us our drinks. Then he brought out the 2 ladies food. We waited...waited...and waited. The ladies got their check, and then we got our food. My husband ordered the strawberry waffle with whipped cream with eggs. He loved it! The strawberries tasted fresh and weren't overly sweet. My machaca was so good! Everything seasoned perfectly, the rice was fluffy, the beans were delicious. We enjoyed our meals very much. I had to Flag the waiter down to get a box to take some of my food home. Typically the server will leave the receipt when the customer asks for a to-go box...not this waiter. Nope. We had to AGAIN get his attention to get our bill. He never checked on us either while having our breakfast. So, as much as we would have loved to give 5 stars, we took 1 off due to...
Read moreI usually write good reviews, but I also believe these messages are useful as feedback to business owners and administrators. I was at this place at aroumd 1230pm in a Monday. I was ready to taste the Pozole they advertise with a large canvas. Except. I couldn't.... the only server available was fixated lookink into tne kitchen, as if firmly looking at the cooks would get anything done. The server/cashier (turned out that later) was putting off helping anyone well he was hypnotized looking into the kitchen . In the meantime Another family was made wait while there were plenty of available tables. I sat at the bar. I got ignored until i had to raise my voice a bit to get noticed. The guy pretended to hear my simple order: Pozole. But it didn't come. About 10 to 15 minutes later I noticed a lady came in and exchanged signals with the server / cashier evidently he hadn't written my order and he hadn't even tried serve it instead I was getting served a out of some pre-made trays. At that point I decided to leave it was just too much. it caught my attention the server/cashier had the clientele wait rather than trying to resolve the problem, regardless of how long it'd take for the additional help to come back from lunch or whatever she was doing. Having had experience in the restaurant business I can tell this is a training and Personnel problem most likely due to an absentee owner. It is too bad because they have a great location. Also the place looks a little bit run...
