This place was okay. The lady took about 5-8 minutes to take my order meanwhile i was the only one in line. My food was brought to me Iād say about 10-15 minutes of waiting. I also feel like theyāre more friendly to the Spanish speakers or just idk they seem more willing to enthusiastically greet their fellow Hispanic. So I decided I wanted both nachos And asada fries but the lady thought I was asking for half and half when really I wanted 2 separate orders. But I just decided to go with it bc it wouldāve been too much for me anyway. The total was about $8 so I thought it was reasonable however the quality of the food wasnāt that great. Idk if itās bc I got half and half or what but there was barely any topping on my meal it was mostly sour cream which I actually hate and asada meat. There was barely any cheese (they used some white grated cheese like mozerella) and the salsa was like they took the remainder of the salsa jar and spilled what they could over the bottom of my plate. My fries were soggy bc of it. So Yeah the fries and nachos werenāt worth it (the chips used for nachos were delicious tho very fresh and authentic). As far as setting this place is really small so donāt expect to bring your family here for a birthday dinner the seating is only arranged for 2 people per table and thereās only about 8-9 tables. I donāt really care for the entrance they have they use some net thing that you have to put apart in order to get in. Id never seen it before so I was confused and felt kind of embarrassed bc of how dumb I looked. This is my overall review of this place: prices are decent but the food is mediocre, very small but convenient especially for us college students, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Toros Taqueria, and I must say it was a mixed experience. I ordered two tacos, one Carnitas and the other Cabeza, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. The size and portions of these tacos were generous, and they offered excellent value for the price. The flavors were on point, and I was thoroughly impressed.
However, my excitement took a bit of a hit when I ordered the burrito. I opted for a combination of half carne asada and half al pastor, hoping for a burrito that would rival the deliciousness of the tacos. Unfortunately, that wasn't quite the case. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something in the burrito gave it a strong chocolaty taste. It left me puzzled and slightly disappointed. It felt as if they had mistakenly mixed in some mole sauce instead of the beans, resulting in what tasted like a mole burrito. While I appreciate the creative twist, it was unexpected and not entirely to my liking.
Despite the curious flavor of the burrito, I was quite hungry, so I powered through. The quality of the meat and other ingredients was still decent, but the overpowering chocolate notes remained a bit strange to my palate.
In conclusion, I would certainly give Toros Taqueria another chance for their tacos, as they were undoubtedly the highlight of my meal and well worth the visit. However, I might think twice about ordering a burrito on my next visit, as it didn't meet my expectations. Perhaps it was an off day in the kitchen or just an experiment gone slightly awry. Nevertheless, I'm inclined to recommend this place for the tacos alone, even though the burrito didn't quite live up to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here for the first time getting food for a sibling and I. We tried ordering online earlier, but the card wasn't going through for some reason on Postmates. I took a shower then drove there. It looked like there wasn't any parking available next to the place, so I parked near the gas station. Pretty hot (summer heat, am I right?) so I got out of the car as quick as I could and started walking to the restaurant.
Showed the lady at the front a picture of what we were going to order through Postmates, told my story, and she wrote down our order. I got wanted a Wet Burrito with Carne Asada and green salsa. My sibling got the California Burrito. I paid with the same card, and took a seat at one of the tables, waiting for them to make it. Place was packed, too. People watching stuff on their phones while they waited, some people eating... pretty cool atmosphere. I decided to watch some Star Wars: The Clone Wars while I waited (was on the Umbara arc, 12th time watching the whole show, still good every time). It took.... I'd like to say maybe 10-13 minutes for the order.....? Don't really remember, but I think I was around that amount of time into the episode before my order was called up.
The salsa spilled a bit on the drive home, but boy the burrito was good. And since it's close by, I think I'll keep coming here from now on. Also, I overheard from the lady that the free drink Cerritos College students get comes with the taco. At least, that's what I...
