Winn's Pizza and Steakhouse Norwalk — Restaurant in Norwalk

I have a hard time giving bad reviews bc people are trying to run a business and who am I to post things that would dissuade people from trying a place I didn't like. My mom told me if u don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. Service was very good. Professional and prompt. Atmosphere is ok could use updating. Food was not very good. We had pizza which was not good. The crust needs a total overhaul. Toppings were fine. Some of us had sandwiches. Fries were not good and were also cold. Which probably isn't always the case im sure but they were that night. Given we had a lot of fries served to our table with our multiple sandwich orders one would expect a fresh batch would have been made. They have a salad bar and for about $4 you can make one trip. The plate for this was roughly 5 inches in diameter. Ultimately being a very small and expensive salad overall. But please try the place for yourself bc u may have a different experience. Me and my family had gone on Friday, September 26th around 6pm for dinner to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. Unfortunately we were greeted with very poor service. The younger waitress out of the two working that night was our server and she was very rude. She dismissed my grandma's questions multiple times, didnt check on us at all nor refill our drinks. When we asked for anything even a refill it seemed like we were a burden. My last refill I had asked for she went and grabbed and then went to wipe a dirty table off with my drink in her hand and put the dirty rag she had just used on my cup in the same hand. I was disgusted and just stayed thirsty. Everything about our meal made us very uncomfortable and unwelcomed and quite frankly ruined what should have been a great birthday meal for my granny. We were excited and hesitant to try this place. The reviews looked good, but the pictures of the inside fit a stereotype. The atmosphere is bare bones to leaning bad. There are storage items out next to tables and there didn't appear to be any care for how the place looked or felt inside. Dirty storage containers on the periphery of the dining areas. It was warm and humid. The pizza looked great, but was disappointing. The crust and sauce were very bland, surprisingly so. There were plenty of toppings. The tenderloin was small and tasted okay. The fries were generic bulk thick-cut and tasted so. Food was brought out hot, in an untrained way: straight from the oven/fryer. The waitress was nice, but a bit busy and needed some prompting. For the same money, you can get better food and atmosphere further into the metro. I don't know what the appeal is here. This is not a steakhouse - it is an old school style small town cafe serving...
