Horrible first time experience. We called ahead and asked if they were open. The guy who answered the phone said in a sarcastic and annoyed tone that they were. We didn't think much of it and still went because we were excited to try them. Though we had JUST called six minutes before, the "sorry we're closed" sign was on the window. I ended up waiting to be serviced at the window for nearly 10 minutes while being ignored. I finally pressed the "door bell" buzzer and someone rudely yelled from the back "he's coming!" Finally a guy came up. Idk if he was the owner or what but he had a red and black uniform on. He eventually came to the window huffing and puffing. Didn't say hi or anything just looked at us. I apologized and said we weren't trying to rush them, just that we weren't sure if they were still open because no one was coming. He kept talking over me and kept saying"yeah. Yeah. Okay yeah." I asked if they had lobster rolls and then he annoyingly listed off everything they were out of and had been out of all day. If he had told us on the phone, we wouldn't have wasted our time. Once we went to walk away, he flipped the sign back to" Open" which made us feel like he didn't want to serve us to begin with. This made us feel horrible. WILL NEVER be going back here. EVER.

Editing to add that this business harassed me and made a post slandering me on their Facebook in response to...

I've had a really tough week, and my boyfriend treated me to some clam strips, onion rings, clam chowder, and crab cake bites tonight. We just moved to the area, and him to the state, so he's been really excited to try out the local shack. I grew up on this food and definitely have to say it's some of the best I've had.

The clam chowder is thick and unbroken and loaded with goodies, the onion rings are perfectly fried, and the crab cake bites are awesome and well seasoned. The star of the show is the clams, though. Crispy on the outside and SO tender on the inside. I think my world might have just changed... I didn't know clam strips could be cooked like that, and I say this as someone who loves the usual chewy texture haha. Seriously blown away by how tender these are. Shout out to the woman I saw in the back, she knows what she's doing.

Big thanks to whoever was manning the counter, too. I was busy crying in the car while the BF ordered, and she brought it out to our vehicle for us. It was very kind of her :-)

Psyched to live so close and definitely plan on coming back to eat at the tables instead of my bedroom floor, haha. Will have to bring the rest...

It was my first time in the area, visiting Mohegan Sun Arena, figured I'd try local seafood. I order the crab tacos, the lady reads back crab bites, I kindly clarified that I wanted crab tacos, and she replies with "....Yeah, that's what I said. Crab bite tacos" with an attitude, like I was supposed to know those were the same item, especially when Crab bites is already listed as an entree. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip like only cooking the food deserves it. The food arrives, there's maybe 3 balls of fried crab covered in a mountain of lettuce and cheese. No flavor, no love, no atmosphere here. Halloween yoga pants cashier-woman (who is clearly as nasty as seen below) single-handedly made this place feel so trashy. Forget ever coming back here. It's a waste of your money and time.

Edit: How kind of the store to be sarcastic in their response. It really shows the quality of trash this place is. Good luck to everyone else and their lettuce bowls that they serve as...

Lobster 🦞 roll absolutely delicious! It was warm and buttery and filled with lots of lobster on a medium roll. Thankfully not another "lobster roll" on a hotdog bun. Definitely recommend to anyone stopping by in the area for Foxwoods or Mohegan. This tastes way better than what they serve at the casino and at a reasonable price. The seafood platter and hush puppies were great. Fish was so light, compared to other places that over batter. I saw a few reviews bashing the coleslaw, but it was great. I prefer the healthier, vinegar based slaw, found at most bbq places. We hope to try their lobster bisque and clam chowder next season!

Best lobster roll I've had in CT (so far, I'm still exploring) but this one was absolutely stellar. Also tried the clam strips which were excellent. The only let down was their slaw. It is incredible underprepared both from a seasoning and fermentation point of view. It's hard and tasteless without much flavor, and when eating a bunch of fried fatty foods having a good acidic slaw really does wonders. So here's to hoping they can fix that, but tbh I'd go back every time just for the rolls and clams.
