China Rama — Restaurant in Norwood

As someone who has been going here on and off since I was in my 20’s , I have to say the food and the service have definitely gone down hill over the last 25 years, there’s just no denying it. I might stop at this place 2 or 3 times a year now if that, and when I do, I usually regret it. What pushed me over the edge was a couple of years ago I ordered some takeout , picked it up, took it home, opened the bag, and found the food was not what I ordered. I had to drive all the way back , told them what happened, and they apologized and gave me my correct order. I was about to leave , but they said no we have to ring in your order. I was shocked by this, but their point of view was the incorrect order I paid for was only about 18 dollars, but my actual order was about 25 dollars. So they insisted on charging me the 7 dollar difference even though it was their mistake. They just kept reiterating they had to charge me, even though I told them I drove home and had to come back. They just didn’t care at all that I was inconvenienced by their mistake. So I let them charge me, and then I took a looooooong break from ever going back there. Was thinking about finally going back but decided to read these reviews and the pattern is undeniable. Been going here for over 25 years but will not be returning. Not because of the food but because of the HORRIBLE customer service. Not sure what’s happened over the last year but the cashier/front end service and people were always super nice and always included the correct amount of sauces. Now they have some miserable woman working the phone and register. Holds back sauces like they’re gold even when I specifically ask. When I called to ask her why they’re being so stingy alls she does is yell over me, won’t let me get a word in edgewise and keeps asking me what I ordered after I’ve told her twice!! I never write reviews. You have to be HORRIBLE to get me to do this and today I finally had it. This lady is costing you customers because I’m taking my business elsewhere as I’m sure others will too if they’re being treated like this. Absolutely ridiculous way to treat customers. I have to write a honest review. I was excited to try this place. The presentation of the food was nice looking. Nice size portions. Unfortunately, the boneless spear ribs were not the greatest. They have potential. Maybe some more glaze(?) the general tso chicken tasted and felt like it was reheated 😢. The rice was ok. I like that they put onions in it. I never in my life have been to a Chinese restaurant that gives applesauce for duck sauce!!!! I didn’t even waste my time putting it on the food because I do not like applesauce. Like the consistency wasn’t even of duck sauce. The broccoli was hard. Overall. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. It definitely is something that can be fixed. I can see the potential.
