I ordered the mushroom swiss butter burger and as always with culvers and more specifically that location the burger was amazing as it is everytime I order one. The burger is cooked just right to perfection as well as the mushrooms are full of buttery flavor which both get complimented perfectly by the swiss cheese that is melting just enough to hold it all together but not so much as to be messy and the accent of the Swiss cheeses flavor is on point. I don't usually care for crinkle cut french fries but when they come from culvers, I'll eat every single one in my order lol. Then to top of the eating experience ( I only figured/realized this about two possibly three trips ago) the house brew, custom or special recipe rootbeer culvers makes specially their own is the figurative cherry on top to the meal. I always walk away full and satisfied ready for a nap lol. I used to always only use the drive-thru, once I started going inside even if ordering to go is when I discovered the delicious custom culvers rootbeer. If it was sold by the bottle or can or even better outta the fountain like theirs at gas stations and convenience stores I would regularly purchase it. I will say I ordered a medium mashed potato and gravy bowl that can be a side for an upcharge I believe. The sides only come in medium and large also and honestly the medium bowl is shorter and larger around then the large bowl which is taller and skinnier. When they are next to each other it's pretty hard to see any kind of a difference in serving...
Read moreFast food restaurants and workers often get a bad rap. I'm pleasantly surprised by how helpful the employees are here, and the food is surprisingly decent--although as a non-carnivore, I can't make any assessments of the burgers. They are one of only a few fast food 'burger' places that still offers a vegetarian burger that ISN'T fake meat ("impossible" burgers, for example...yuck).
Their concrete mixers are like DQ blizzards only they cost LESS and you can just make your own flavor. (I do like some of the DQ blizzard flavors, but they seem pretty ridiculously overpriced in comparison.)
Also, flavor of the day frozen custard is frequently excellent.
I like the cheese curds and the onion rings but recently they seem obnoxiously salty to the point of almost not being able to eat them. (I know fast food is not renowned for its low sodium content, but dang!)
On the whole, I'm pretty sure that having this Culver's so close by is the main reason I only lost 30 pounds on chemo. It's been a great option for me to get easy, palatable calories. I love the Curdside pick up option--order online, I don't have to leave my car!
On the occasions I've gone inside or drive-through, I've also been pleased with the service. (Including the shift manager who gave my dog his own little cup of vanilla frozen custard with peanut butter...he was...
Read moreI'll let the other reviewers rave about their burgers (they are VERY good) and review the rest of the experience. Culvers seems to do a pretty darn good job of making sure that all of their locations have the same look, feel, and level of service. I have been to many chain restaurants that attempt this but somehow don't quite succeed. Not the case here and that is a good thing. I've dined inside this particular Culvers (Pre-Covid) and ordered at the drive through more times that I'd like to admit. I would guess at least a few dozen times in the past year. Every (and I mean EVERY) visit has been great. The food has always been fresh and hot, the service and courtesy of the staff has been far above what you would get from other fast food chains, and while the price isn't at cheap as Md D's, it isn't unreasonable for what you get. A favorite is their "North Atlantic" Cod which is as good as any fried fish I've ordered at far more expensive places. Their sides such as honey mustard or tarter sauce are premium, both in size and quality..so don't skip them. Unlike other fast food side sauces, Culvers actually prints expiration dates on theirs so that you can enjoy...
