This shop was very cute and the man behind the counter seemed knowledgeable . I definitely want to go back when I have more time and browse some more!

On a serious note, I'm new to collecting and wanted a second opinion on a few coins I found, along with a handful from my grandmother's collection and had no clue where to start. I stopped in and asked for his opinion. He looked at them and gave me some good advice- and helped me confirm that I do actually have one proof coin (yay!) (And one very old pizza arcade token that was mixed in the bunch- oops.)

I also asked his opinion on coin scope / other coin scanning apps - they're great for information (what your coin is made of, how many have been minted, ect, but NOT for value checking.)

I'm feeling much more confident in knowing what to look for for in the future and excited to see...

I showed up at Christos Coins and Jewelry with a van full of coins that my father-in-law had collected over the years. I had called ahead so Basil was expecting me, but I'm not sure he expected so much to look at. He was very friendly and was not at all shocked at how much I had brought. I was there about three hours, but it did not seem like three hours. He, his wife, his friend Nappy and I visited and shared stories. It was not like a business transaction. It was more like meeting friends. I knew nothing about the coins I had and Basil took the time to explain a lot to me about what to keep, what to auction, etc. I thought he was very fair on prices. I took in two jewelry boxes filled with various pieces that belonged to my cousin’s estate. The professional staff kindly offered to go through ALL of it to help me assess the values of each piece, which took a huge burden off my heart and saved me so much time (not having to go from jeweler to jeweler)! They were very fair and honest to work with, answering all my questions and listening to my personal tidbits about my cousin’s life.
