Jalapeños 808 — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Unfortunately, I didn't even make it to the front door. I'll explain. This past Saturday, before I started work, I had free time and was excited to try Jalapeños, I'm always looking for good Mexican food. I had parked across the street at meter parking when I was putting my change in the meter I could hear commotion going on across the street at the side door to Jalapeños, 2 of the employees were standing outside of the door looking down the sidewalk they were laughing, throwing their hands above there heads, honestly acting at first I thought silly but within seconds I saw a young autistic man that was visibly upset over what the 2 men were doing, they were clearly making fun of him, so I walked upto one of them and said "I apologize if I'm wrong but were you guys making fun of that Autistic Man? He proudly responded with a yes as he was looking over me still acting stupid, I said, "Who does that?" He laughed, and I said, "You are a disgusting human being. You both should be ashamed." He told me ya whatever. I was so upset over what they were doing that I was in tears walking away from them. The disrespect and disregard they so proudly displayed made me sick. I'm not sure if what there role is in the restaurant but whatever it is neither of them should be working there, they may have good food but I refuse to support any establishment that would treat anyone like this but for it to be clearly a special needs young man and have no shame even after I called them out on it. Over my 30+ years here in Hawaii, I have amazing Mexican food and some that wasn't the best, but because of the lack of respect and regard, they showed I will not support...

Highly recommended!!! If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, this is your spot. I stopped in on a Tuesday for their taco specials and was absolutely blown away. The tacos were legit, with tender meat, fresh onions and cilantro, and warm tortillas that hit the spot.

The chips and guacamole? Next level good. 🥑 Incredibly fresh, creamy, and flavorful. Easily some of the best I’ve had in Oahu.

What really made the visit great though was the kindness and speed of the service. Everyone there was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care about your experience. You can feel the pride they take in their food and service.

Whether you’re a local or just visiting Kailua, make this place part of your regular taco rotation. You won’t regret it.
