5 Stars – Delicious Local Comfort Food & A Hidden Gem That Was Worth the Turnaround!

After a long day at the beach, my family was starving and we were lucky to find L&L Hawaiian Barbecue just 10 minutes away. At first, it looked like it might be closed—but then I spotted the OPEN sign glowing, so I turned the car around—and I’m so glad I did!

The food was excellent, full of flavor, and the portions were generous enough to save some for later. We ordered the Seafood Combo and the Rib Combo (I think that’s what it was called), and both were spot-on. Total comfort food after a day in the sun!

The cashier/waitress was incredibly kind and welcoming, making sure we were well taken care of with that warm aloha spirit. It really made the experience even better.

They also serve Loco Moco and breakfast all day, which we’ll definitely be back to try next time.

Great food as always, service is eh. Facility looks run down and one table was dirty when we got there. I asked to borrow the rag to wipe the table down, I wish she had made an effort to use the rag herself instead of handing it to me but she is young so maybe she doesn’t know better. You know how clean a facility is by the bathroom and it is really clean for such a small spot that gets a lot of traffic in and out. ZMost that matters is food is good and served HOT! Limited seating inside but a covered area outside has plenty of seating. I had chicken katsu with Mac salad and a scoop of rice. The mini was plenty of food for 1-1&1/2 people. The sauce that comes with the Katsu chicken is a great combo with the chicken, sort of a honey taste but very faint spice to it. The mini fried shrimp includes 4 shrimp a scoop of rice and Mac salad with a small scoop of chopped...

Good people. I don't know anyone personally...but, I know people. If memory serves(lol), she's been working there since it's opened! It's been a minute, or two. I'm positive, everybody knows, whom, I'm referring to. Faces there change. Her's still remain. Anyways...I do this often😌...place my order, right, before, closing😔..........and then...I got there... AFTER, 9!... NEED I SAY ANYMORE? But yeah, because I'm familiar, as well as she, to me, a mutual respect is shared. Mine, fell a little short tonight. Hence, my review. MY APOLOGIES...

L & L in Waimanalo, definitely, good food. And definitely, because of super, good people!!! I wish I knew her name. And she, she's a step, above all the rest...THE BEST!...
