Maile Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Wonderful people, great tasting Chinese food. Very reasonably priced. I've been to China 8 times lived there and Hong Kong for 5 months, dined with dignitaries and ate in 5 star restaruants and Hotels. The food in Maili Chinese Restaruant is just as tasty, in a local style. My friend who is a Congressman's daughter from Taiwan has made comments several times that the food is really good there.

I've eaten there so much that I've gotten to know the workers and in response to the comment about cleanliness, I beg to diffe pehaps that was under the former ownership.

I see them cleaning daily and diligently. I have never thought it was not clean and was shocked when I saw that comment. I would have not gone back, especially so often if it were so. I think the criticism is undeserved.

I also think sometimes food competitors write negative reviews in order to stop people from going to a place they are in competition with. I suggest you try it yourself :)

One thing you have to remember is that Chinese cullture is different and some Chinese are less outgoing but not meaning to be rude or unfriendly.

Staff Incredibly rude to my family of 7. We treated the staff well. We're respectful and highly considerate throughout our meal. Every time we asked for something our server progressively became more aggressive and started to say rude things when asked for Chopsticks, more Rice etc. Asked for take out boxes and our server throws it on our table and says more rude things. They sneak in more tip to force on you after already tipping on the first receipt. How do I know she's saying rude things?

There's a language barrier; but not when I understand Cantonese and hear the slander of how we're "Rude. Ungrateful. And Impatient". I'm Chinese and was raised as one. Wish we could've talked it through before I left this review. Im sorry, but I'll be telling my other family and friends not to come here. 1/5 Stars, for the lack of service.

This place was soooo awful!!! From the outside of the business it looks like a nice restaurant so my family and I tried it. It was dirty and dingy. The food was gross! The “orange chicken” wasn’t even fresh it looked like it was sitting out all night. I mean how disgusting is a restaurant that won’t even cook your food fresh? The shrimp with lobster sauce was gross and not even the correct recipe. It was over cooked shrimp with HUGE barely cooked green peppers and onions with a weird gravy and hints of what was supposed to be lobster bits. When I asked the waitress if this was the shrimp with lobster sauce she just said “yeah new recipe” as an excuse for this awful food.
