HI Sliders — Restaurant in Hawaii

UPDATE: I posted this review and within minutes got another coupon that states WITH a $20 purchase. I am going to attach both coupons now so that I don't look like I was lying.

My star rating is not a reflection of the food, because the food is great every time I eat here. Unfortunately, it is due to the lack of communication when coupons are sent out.

A few days ago I received a coupon for a free sticky fry, so today I went to purchase two shrimp tacos and use the coupon for the sticky fries. The lady at the counter (who seemed irritated at my request) said in order to use the coupon I needed to spend $20. Now, this is not the first time I have used one of their free item coupons, this actually would have been my 3rd time. I have never been told this, but regardless, if that was the case this should have been stated on the coupon so that I would have known before going.

Customer service is really what gets you, the owner/cook is really nice but the food is very overpriced. For the prices, i either expected bigger than normal sliders or overpriced food and unfortunately i got the latter. I got the Chicken and waffle and Bacon Jam sliders, onion rings and strawberry lemonade. The Chicken and waffle slider: the waffle had good flavor, the chicken honestly was like crispy tyson tenders from the grocery store and overall it couldve used some syrup or something to moisten it up. The Bacon Jam slider: Good flavor but small. Over all both sliders were a big tease. The small portions leave you wanting more but the prices aren’t worth it. The onion rings were SO BASIC. they were all batter and you could barely taste the onion. AND THE RANCH, probably watered down, it tasted so plain and the cup wasn’t even half full 😐. Finally the strawberry lemonade was good but...

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was, surprisingly, pretty bare. Food is alright, nothing to write home about. We all got different sliders(you can’t mix and match at the window) and swapped out to try different flavors. I’d say the pricing is standard for a food truck.

Their mixed drinks are so AWFUL!!! That li hing mui powder tastes so gross but the drink itself was so bad I couldn’t finish it. I got the li hing mango and another at the table got the sour apple. Neither drinks tasted like their names. We shared sips with each other to figure out if we were given the wrong drinks, that’s how bad it was. I cant imagine anyone thinks those drinks are good.
