For a first time experience at Rakumen Ramen, it was pretty good for a Ramen shop. It reminds me of another Ramen shop I previously attended during my high-school days after school hours. And because it comes as a very close friendly reminder of that old shop, I really do enjoy it. They even have a Tea Time Menu of drinks that you can add Boba or other listed toppings that they have.
My only thing is that, when I had their beef curry, it could have been a touch softer in terms of how well it was cooked, the meat was a bit on the tough side. So just saying they could have stewed it for a bit longer or added some kind of cooking agent to help the meat soften like pineapple or honey for example. But otherwise, it was still pretty good. Not bad for a first time. Not that big of a gripe (to me I'm not one to make a big deal out of it really. I don't mind in all honestly, but this is my opinion in terms of review)
Other than that, the place is great! It's kept nice and clean, it's organized, and the bathroom especially is really nice and clean. So please, I'm not sure if their bathroom is a public restroom, but be courteous, atleast order a Drink or Boba drink or food for on the go as it is only proper to order before asking to use a facility's...
Read moreCame here on a friends recommendation, ordered a tonkotsu ramen, garlic shrimp fried rice and wonton soup. Sooo disappointed by ramen quality after all the positive reviews. No seasoning or flavor to the broth, it tasted watered down and was clear, not that good emulsified tonkotsu mix you want. Had a few slices of boiled pork unseasoned, and not the fried pieces either. Toppings were mung bean sprouts and seriously like three tiny slices of green onion. I’m seeing in the images ramen loaded out with toppings but this was a bland bowl of noodles with no seaweed, fishcake, or anything you want in a good ramen. Wonton broth tasted like a dashi broth but very metallic and overly fishy. Wontons didn’t have much flavor. Rice was good and a very...
Read moreI went there myself on a Sunday. It was typically empty around 3 PM. I was seated immediately and ordered ramen without any troubles at all. I ordered the black garlic oil tan tan ramen for around $12 and the extra 4 pc char-siu for another 3 dollars. Being happy hour, I was also given 4 pc of Gyoza for free. Overall, the food tasted amazing compared to other ramen restaurants around the area. As I was leaving, I was told from the waitress "see you again". Dang straight, brudda will totally come back here again with his homies or by himself to eat more ramen...
