We went on a tuesday night. Four other tables were being served at the time. We ordered stuffed chicken wings, a hamachi appetizer, both excellent, and beef panang curry. Waitress asked what type of rice, we responsed with a large order of Jasmine rice. It took over 20 minutes to get the appetizer's, which I thought was kind of long, but it was worth the wait, as mentioned before, they were excellent a little pricy but delicious for sure. After about a half an hour, the waitress asked if we would like to order anything else, I said no as we were still waiting on the curry and rice. 5 minutes later, she brings the check. She says she didnt hear the curry order, yet she had confirmed it back while we were ordering originally, so I ordered a beef panang curry,a chicken larb and a large jasmine rice to go as my husband was still quite hungry. Our total time there was 1 hour 15 minutes. I get home, and the take out order was missing the rice. The staff is very nice, but you would think that after making the initial error, they would have been more careful with the orders going forward. My fault for not double checking before we left. I usually do not feel the need to be proactive with wait staff, as I feel that they may be offended by those questions or asking for re-confirmation, but if you are going to come to Saeng's, maybe it would be...
Read moreOrdered takeout from Saeng's on the evening of Wednesday 11/11/2020. We ordered 4 appetizers and 4 entrees, and were told it'd be about 25 minutes for our food to be ready. After 20~ minutes we drove over; when we arrived, there was about 8 different parties already waiting for their food. We had to wait an additional 20 minutes, about 45 minutes total, for our food to actually be ready. Before Covid, we'd dine in/order out from time to time and never waited that long, so not sure what caused the hold up this evening.
Our order consisted of 2 Spring rolls, 2 Beef Sautee, 2 Shrimp Pad Thai, Pork Pad See Ew and a Chicken Curry. The sauce with the Beef Sautee is delicious but the beef itself was overcooked and dry. The spring rolls were okay, but overly oily. The Chicken Curry was good but nothing all too special. Luckily all our noodle dishes were very good. I always stick to the Pad Thai when I eat at Saeng's and I'm always happy with it. Our bill came up to $121. Their prices have definitely gone up over the years! The food is good, but the portion sizes and spotty quality don't justify the cost.
If you're craving Thai Food, Saeng's will satisfy, but it's expensive and depending on the day, quality can be really disappointing on...
Read moreOrdered $70 worth of take out tonight, and I can firmly say we will NEVER order food here again. Chicken Pad Thai: there were SIX (yes you read that right) small pieces of chicken in my Pad Thai, and it consisted of only noodles, those 6 pieces of chicken, a handful of crushed peanuts and some fresh cabbage. That's it. It had no flavor, no texture, no veggies. The Summer Rolls were 90% romaine lettuce. WHAT. I've never had such terrible and bland summer rolls before. They were disgusting and tasted somewhat soapy - we couldn't even finished them. The Pad Ka Pao had decent flavor, but was hardly enough food for one person (and they claim this is "Family Style" portions! The Pad Ka Pao barely filled one half of a take out box). The Mango Sticky rice also was good, but for nearly $14 we got less than a quarter cup of sweet sticky rice and half a mango. NOT WORTH IT. They weren't busy - there was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we picked up. There was no excuse for how bad and disappointing the food was. I hardly leave reviews, but I had...
