Saito & Pho Japanese & Vietnamese — Restaurant in Oʻahu

My experience was very short with this restaurant. My mom, and I stopped by with my newborn because Genki Sushi isn't opening until June 6th. We walk in and it smelled so delicious. Before we could relish in the environment, someone shouted to us from across the room how many is in our party. I say 2, then she said 3 and laughed. Clearly my newborn isn't eating though. Anyway, there was maybe 2 families there, both sitting at the front, but the lady pointed and told us to sit in the very back... we sat down, looked at the menu, and my mom told me she'd be right back, she was gonna wash her hands. I asked the same lady where the restroom was and she just looked at me and pointed. So I told her speak up, I can't hear you, just say where the restroom is. She just kept pointing and getting an attitude. I never experienced customer service so terrible before. Usually someone would show you where the restroom is, it's not that serious. The lady ended up getting an attitude and making disgusted faces at us. We were so uncomfortable, we just decided to leave. Maybe customer service training...

Rating: 3.5/5 Got an assortment of food: lemongrass tofu sandwich, ginger fish, bbq chicken, pho, wafu steak. Comfortable seating, nice atmosphere, very clean. All of our food was cooked well, portions are nice. Pho was great! Bbq chicken tasted good too. Flavor needs to be stepped up for the steak and fish. Lemongrass tofu sandwich had that nice crunch from the bread, and the fresh flavor was there, but the tofu was a little soggy. (Idk how Bale Kailua did it, but I have yet to try sandwiches as good as the ones they made.) Miso soup was very salty, added a splash from my glass, all goods:) Friendly reminder for servers to keep fingers away from the tops of bowls, to prevent overlapping into the bowl, don't forget to check on diners and refresh glasses. love love love this place! The food is so good. I come here almost weekly and always order the crab rangoons, different from ones i’ve tried before, extra crispy with crab filling with delicious sweet chili sauce. I also always order the combination pho and i add in extra of the chili oil and it’s sooo yummy!! My husband orders the steak they have that’s sizzling on the hot plate, and also the garlic chicken too.

The employees are always so kind and so efficient. I can tell the owner loves what he does and you can tell that they put love into the food they cook. I always recommend this restaurant to everyone! Never a wait for whenever I’m there, service is amazing and so...
