The Kiwi Korner puffs & pies — Restaurant in Oʻahu

The pie truck as I call it sells New Zealand style meat pies. I've tried steak and cheese, mince and cheese, curry, bacon and egg and steak and onion. All of these pies tasty really nice. The fillings were hot, moist (not dry), plentiful and well flavored. The pies are around 10 bucks each so it's not cheap but their quality is fantastic.

I found the pasty to be a little on the saltier side which I didn't really enjoy as much as I wanted to. They also have a shop in Ha'u'ula by the elementary school but the open times are fairly inconsistent.

Overall, the food is great and it does remind me of home. Soft flakey pastry with a generous portion of filling should...

So many great reviews it's strange that I had the experience I had with the beef and onion pie. It was filled with a brown gelatinous filling with two or three pieces of steak. Pretty yuck. I'd much rather pay $21 for a pie with steak than $11 for a pie of filling. That said, the smores cookie was outstanding. Really yummy. Better than chunky cookie in Laie. BOTTOM LINE: skip the pie and go...
