Zippy's Mililani — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Zippy's Restaurants are found all over Oahu and is a friendly and moderately priced place to dine alone or with friends and family. We like the staff at Mililani Zippy's and dine there when we are in the mood for breakfast most of the time. Their selections are pretty diverse ranging from pancakes, waffles, French toast, regular toast, hash browns, fried rice, omelets, steak, side dishes like white or brown rice, ham, bacon, sausages, and eggs cooked however you want. They also allow you to ask for no salt, butter, or oil for those on special diets. The Mililani location is usually busy at night, during lunchtime and at other peak hours so we try to eat between peak hours like at 2 p.m. to avoid the crowds.

I normally order a veggie omelet with brown rice or whole wheat toast while my husband prefers steak, Loco Moco, or some kind of meat and eggs. The omelets are always really good and filling. I also like their pancakes with bacon and eggs.

For lunch or dinner my nornal go to meal is their famous chili and rice, Korean chicken, wonton min, or saimin. Zippy's uses Sun brand noodles which are delicious fresh frozen noodles in a yummy soup base.

While the side veggies are canned instead of fresh the food is acceptable and often satisfying. The homey atmosphere is quite enjoyable as well. I recommend Zippy's for a simple sit down meal or take out. Don't forget to visit their bakery as well. The turnovers are very popular and the cornbread is moist and delicious. This has always been one of my favorite local franchise restaurants, but it’s only four stars now because I’m saddened that inflation has affected the prices of this place so much, which I understand is out of their control. But I digress, everything else is spectacular. The food portions are huge, the bakery has an extensive selection, and the customer service and ease of online ordering and pick up is top notch.

The fried chicken options, from katsu chicken, or Korean fried chicken are always delicious, perfectly crisp, hearty portions and side of macaroni salad ties the whole meal together. Their world class chili is also to die for. I’ve tried replicating the recipe myself to no avail.

The Keiki macaroni and cheese isn’t anything special, just your simple box Kraft Mac and cheese, but my son had no complaints as that is his favorite kind anyways.

The bakery from the cakes, pastries, donuts, are all delicious and some products have their own unique local Hawaiian flare. Ranging from guava, lilikoi, or ube, the bakery section has something for everyone.

Sometimes the food does take a while because everything is made to order for the most part, so take advantage of their online ordering tool. You just place the order and they will have it ready for pick up in the lockers, which you will have access via your phone to unlock, to prevent theft of your...

Update: Zippy's Mililani is still the Best Local Food Drive in and Restaurant in Hawaii. Our server was Our Favorite Kayla Anzai. She always has a Cheerful Personality, which makes her like family.

Tonight, I ordered Teri Beef Plate - Delicious. My wife ordered Mini Chicken Katsu - Perfect. Drinks we had, Iced Tea and Lemonade. - Wonderful. Dessert - Apple Pie Ala Mode, Glazed Donut with a Chocolate Center.

Update February 14th 2025 Happy Valentine's Day This evening we went to zippy's Mililani for dinner. Kayla was our server she is always friendly and efficient. We have the Hawaiian plates which was cool pig and Laulau. The color pig was moist and tender, the Lau Lau was moist and delicious. The race was perfect and the macaroni salad was perfection.
