I was at the bakery today to purchase some goodies for Thanksgiving. Upon arrival there was a line which is expected. I waited patiently for my turn and when the employee asked who was next I stepped up to place my order and began to speak. A man at the front of the store, raised his voice and asked if he could pick a pre-order. I proceeded to speak my order and the employee put her hand up and told me to HOLD ON, pre-orders can go first. I politely told her that she didn't any signage stating that and that I was going to leave because I did not like the fact that she put her hand up and in a rude manner told me to hold on. I get it that it is a busy time, but ALL CUSTOMERS should be appreciated and the tone I received was the exact opposite. Customers are waiting outside in the cold to purchase goods and to be dismissed is not acceptable. I WON'T RETURN because your tone and hand raise were disrespectful but best of luck for...

I asked her to add a delivery charge and she declined, saying to just pay the kindness forward. She even called me later to let me know she had gotten this offering to our family. I can’t wait to visit when we return to Oak Park. Hoping...
Read moreThis hidden gem really is one of the best bakeries in Chicagoland. Their coffee cakes are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. All flavors really are top notch. While their donuts are simpler than all the boutique donut shops, the flavors are amazing...and their chocolate "frosting" is the best I've had. Their eclairs are only beat by those found in the patisseries of Paris. Their breads are simply delectible! If you are a fan of cinnamon raisin bread, that alone is worth the trip. But order ahead so they don't sell out before you get there! I could go on and on... bottom line is: this bakery is worth the trip, so...
