Last week I posted a glowing review on Popeye's website about this store: because, I thought their change in personel had made a marked improvement in service. However, today the staff performed at the same low quality of service I've come to expect at this store. I realize now that last week's performance was informed by the fact that the regional manager was in the store. Today, the chicken was overcooked and hard and the staff was surly, rude, and cynical.
First, the manager interrupted/distracted the cashier while I was placing my order; to tell him how to sort the coupons from previous orders. Then, I was again rudely interupted when the assistant manager came over and just started talking to the cashier as though I wasn't there; about some nonwork related topic. Neither time did either of them excuse themselves for interrupting me. Instead, when I asked "am I in your way?" (sarcasm intended), the manager voiced an irritated excuse for herself, stating "he's new, so I'm trying to make sure he's doing everything right." Meanwhile; the cashier next to him was shooting eyerolls and dagger eyes at me, as though I was in the wrong for wanting to be respectfully served.
If the management training new employees are truly intent on training them to do "everything right", they should start by displaying courtesy to customers themselves.
Also, while eating my meal in the dining room, I noticed the surly cashier say something under her breath to the manager, who replied loud enough for me to hear, "I'm retired. I don't have to worry about what these customers...

Specifically, I attempted to use a coupon code which did not work. Instead of a polite explanation that the location wasn't currently accepting that particular code, I was met with unprofessional and dismissive language. The employee's response was not only unhelpful but also demonstrated a clear lack of customer service training. The situation was further exacerbated by the presence of other employees who exhibited similar unprofessional behavior, offering no assistance or alternative solutions. Their dismissive and condescending comments were completely inappropriate.
I believe that customer service training is critically needed at this location. Employees should be equipped to handle situations professionally and respectfully, even when dealing with unexpected challenges. A more constructive approach would greatly improve the customer experience and enhance your business's reputation. Delivery doesn't seemed to be accurate so beware if you're ordering online(Ex; doordash, the app, Grubhub, etc) anyways I've ordered from this place 3 times in a row, 1st time they forgot my drink; I said okay that's cool I didn't really need it, 2nd time they gave me two small red bean and rice instead of a large one??? Huh? Were they that lazy to put it in a large on top of that portions were wrong so I was cheated out my money but that was okay bc I could report it to the app on top of that rice were burnt food was cold asl and it's the summer time so ... yea, 3rd time I ordered the same thing this time they gave me a large mashed potatoes(I don't even like theirs so why???) no sauces no straw, hard * biscuits like wth!?
