Visited Ridgeland Common Park as Oak Park has two pools open, Memorial Day through Labor Day. This is a much larger pool and swim area, however there is less activities for toddlers and kids. The diving boards and splash pad were practically empty before noon, so those with a Seasonal Pass will definitely get their fill of sights, sounds and splashing before the open pool times. Prepare to spend about an hour and a half after getting settled. The park district allows small snacks and canned beverages, so tuck away a power bar or two, No hard sided coolers allowed, as there are no tables for picnics. If you do bring cash, they do have vending machines tucked away at the Northwest end of the pool. Read moreWe came here to ice skate. The ice is open to the public on Sundays from 12:15 to 2:45pm. We paid $8 per person including skate rentals. They have lockers you can use and the support for beginners, as well monitors who just make sure no one is being crazy. There's also a separation between the main rink and a beginner area for those who need a lower paced rink....
