I've had this restaurant around town under my radar for a few weeks!!! 🧐 All locations appear to have a constant flow of traffic, and that was a positive luring thing to see!
I've witnessed this particular location and the one in the medical district to be the busiest and the cleanest of all of them... Which is a good thing!!! 👍🏾
I've decided to try the lunch special posted in the window (2 tacos and a drink). I've added an extra taco in case someone else wanted to try!
I was expecting for a "lunch special" that some refried beans or a scoop of rice to be included there like other Mexican restaurants do, but NOPE... NOTHING!!! 🤪 That was very disappointing on their part!
It was shocking because if you add 2 tacos @ $3.50 each individually and 1 can soda, it would toughly be around the same cost with tax, give or take a few cents!!! 🤷🏾
So it's NOT really a "Special" as they claim!!!
When I finally sat down to eat... Thank Goodness there was sauce on the side because otherwise it would've been VERY dry to swallow!!!
However, it was full of flavor, filling, and enjoyable! The disappointment was NOT having a scoop of a side dish inside! 👎🏾
I may try the burrito next, in hope that more ingredients will be inside before making my final...
Read moreIf I didn't like the protein bowls so much, I would never order from this place again. This is the third time that I have ordered green salsa only and received red, that I cannot eat. I have written it as green salsa only, solamente salsa verde, and sub green salsa for red. Today, the Hispanic woman argued with me when I had to drive all the way back to get my green salsa that I had written it incorrectly. I wrote sub green salsa for red. She argued with me that that meant I only wanted red. She needs to understand what substitute means. The definition is: substitute something for something else" means to replace one thing with another thing; essentially, using one item in place of another, taking on its function or role. The fact she argued with a guest (who pays her paycheck) is unacceptable. When I called before I drove back, the other young woman said, yes, it clearly says to sub green for red. Annoying AF. I come from restaurants (30 years) and I would NEVER argue with a guest and I would have gone out of my way to apologize and...
Read moreI got my classic baseline order for any Mexican restaurant, which is Mexican style tacos (only onion and cilantro) and a horchata, two things that need to be right for any creditable Mexican eat.
I have to say the tacos were nearly perfect. I loved them, not the best steak I've ever had, but not the worse by a long shot. I wouldn't rate the stake lower than a 7/10. The horchata on the other had was extremely good as well. It tasted like ice cream, and I have to appreciated that it was in fact good horchata, the only flaw was the sweetness but I won't let that impact the 9/10 rating. It was a bit too sweet, but the thickness and the flavors were very nice and it was very refreshing and light, as horchata should be.
A fair warning, the sauces they give are very flavorful and firey, absolutely delicious. However they are NOT meant for the people who are novice to spice.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who passes by it more than thrice a week. I say...
