Peeples Taco Place — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

I just want to let everyone know, that over three decades ago there was a original Peeples Tacos, located on Chicago’s west side, off Pulaski and vanburen, setting on the east side of Pulaski, just to cut a long statement short, I was walking my dog down the alley which walks west behind the old peeples tacos, they had maybe a 6-foot wood gate, (privacy gate) on the back of the restaurant, for some reason my dog snatch him self away from me, holding him detained he broke loose and jetted straight towards the privacy gate, which blocked the view behind peeples tacos, he jumped up high enough to grab the top of the gate and pull him self over the gate, I ran behind my dog to see why, but the only way I could get him out the gate was to reach over the gate and slide the latch to the right, wow I can remember that day as clear as day, low and behold, I walked into the back of peeples tacos and I then see the unthinkable, two barrels, filled to the top, with brown and white hair CAT skins with the head still attached, I was maybe 16-years old, all I can say back then is, what us this about, at that age, me being kinda over nieve..... didn’t think twice that peeples Tacos was useing cat meat as the meat for their tacos, right now today, I’m asking, what in the heck was all those cat skins with head still on, doing in the back of peeples tacos behind that unlocked privacy gate?

Message to peeples tacos, you’ll should’ve kept that gate on lock down.

I am happy to say: that I’m thankful that back then I didn’t have money for restaurant food and at the same time I didn’t eat restaurant food because my mother cooked every day. I’m not saying that I have facts, but the question still remains: WHY was two four foot, 16 inch round barrels filled with head on cat skins, setting in the back of peeples tacos in a latched six foot privacy gate??????

There is a 90% chance that unaware people were eating cat meat tacos.

They were filthy 40 some years ago and they’re still filthy today, even more nasty and filthy as they were back in the early 80’s.

For you people that are on here saying how good they’re food is and not notice the nasty filth, you gotta be nasty your self, or even worst. I mean the people who’s behind that dirty counter glass, even look like “ homeless people running a restaurant” now tell...

When I visit the service is always good. No mistakes made. All around good. Today is 12/30/24 I was trying to make another review. When I come here I am getting off work. I always call when I am on Humphrey and Lake Street, once I get there give my name , pay I'm waiting between 10 & 15 minutes. I go pay walked out stepped down in front of travel place looked at phone walked back . A lady in line soon as I came in she said you Rozz yes I replied. She let me know my name was called. The person that takes the order call the numbers out as well. She go back to get the lady order she say again Rozz here and pointed. You can hear in her voice the sarcasm at that same time I am saying to the lady it's okay, I thank you. The lady say I see in your face not me the blank taking the order. I was heated so fast I had to apologize to the people standing inside the restaurant. She say I called her four times before I knew it. Yeah I left back out to calm my nerves but I came right back in. When I told you my name and paid you, it should have been said your order coming up. I wasn't outside five minutes. She being smart . They need to hire someone else to help cook . After she take the orders she go running her mouth I'm watching her waiting for her to get done talking. It'll be a minute...

Food was horrible meat was ok but the lettuce and tomatoes were old on all the tacos. Why would you put brown mushy lettuce on your customers' tacos? On top of that the customer service is horrible. I ordered 10 tacos as a call in and only received 8. I didn't check the bag until I made it home 30 mins away. I called to let them know they didn't care told me dnt accuse them of messing up my order. I had to order 3 more tacos instead of 2 their requirement so I was out of extra money and gas to not even get we apologize for messing up your order. Instead when I asked them to make sure all my food was in the bag so I don't have to come back because I just left here the lady at the register said ok the lady I talked to on the phone told me I can check it myself at the window so I dnt have to come back sarcastically. I've been a gm at several restaurants and this is the worst customer service ever. They can barely have your food ready to pick up on time and don't know how to deal with people. My family eats from here often me not so much I just pick it up for them. I will not be returning after today to eat or pick it up for...
