My recent experience at Jefferson Fountain left an indelible mark, and I can't help but share the highlights of what turned out to be a delightful dining escapade. From the moment I stepped into this charming diner, it became evident that Jefferson Fountain is more than just a place to eat—it's an embodiment of great food, excellent service, and an ambiance that transports you to the heart of a fun, small-town atmosphere.

Let's start with the food; every dish we ordered was a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen. The menu boasted a diverse range of options, from classic diner fare to inventive twists on traditional favorites. The flavors were not only delicious but also indicative of a kitchen that takes pride in the quality of its ingredients. Whether you're a fan of hearty breakfasts or savory lunch options, Jefferson Fountain has something to satisfy every craving.

The service was another standout feature of our visit. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, creating an inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. From taking our orders with a genuine smile to offering helpful recommendations, the service was impeccable. It's evident that the team at Jefferson Fountain understands the importance of hospitality in elevating the overall dining experience.

What truly sets this diner apart is its commitment to fostering a fun, small-town atmosphere. The decor exudes nostalgia, with vintage touches that transport you to a bygone era. The cozy booths and friendly chatter around us added to the charm, creating an ambiance that perfectly complemented the delicious food and attentive service.

Cleanliness is often an underrated aspect of dining experiences, but Jefferson Fountain excelled in this regard as well. The entire establishment was immaculate, from the well-maintained dining area to the spotless restrooms. This attention to cleanliness not only reflects a commitment to hygiene but also enhances the overall comfort of patrons.

And let's not forget about the speed of service—efficiency without sacrificing quality. Our meals arrived promptly, demonstrating a well-coordinated kitchen and waitstaff that understands the value of customers' time.

In conclusion, Jefferson Fountain is a gem of a diner that goes beyond being a place to eat; it's an immersive experience. With great food, excellent service, a nostalgic small-town atmosphere, and a commitment to cleanliness and efficiency, this diner earns my wholehearted recommendation. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and savor the unique charm of Jefferson Fountain—you won't be...

I've enjoyed this place until my experience today. I ordered an unsweet tea and the server stated, "try this, I'm not sure which one I got it from" I couldn't truly tell from the first sip so I took another one and the server raised her voice and said, "so is it sweet or unsweet?!" I answered, "I guess unsweet" because her demeanor was shocking. She came back after a long while and asked if my husband and I were ready but quickly replied with a probably not and I looked at my husband and asked if he was ready and we proceeded to order. She made a rude remark to another younger server about how the tea area was a bad setup because only one person could fit through. Mind you, that server was blessed and replied with something I couldn't hear but judging by her body language, she didn't take kindly to the comment. While I ordered, I wondered of there was another option besides fries and she said, "have you even been here before?" I replied that we'd eaten there many times and that I just wondered if salad would be an option even if there was an upcharge. Not to mention, we were sitting near the tea station and I was looking at all the plates coming out of the kitchen and one time I caught sight of the labelings on the tea barrels. My vision isn't the best BUT the labels were easily read. It was a very different experience today...

Food was excellent and service was fast and friendly but something odd happened. We ordered burgers and onion rings on a recommendation from friends and we had driven twenty miles, one way, to try this particular meal. Our server said, "I'm sorry but we don't serve onion rings on Saturdays. Would you like fries?" I found that sooo peculiar... and arbitrary but I agreed to fries and waited for my food. While eating an excellent burger and very good fries, a couple in the booth behind ours ordered burgers with onion rings. Their server (a different server) wrote his order down and walked away. I continued eating, expecting his server back any minute to tell him that, as is their practice, he would not be having onion rings with his burger since it was Saturday. Is Saturday a Latin word for 'serve no deep-fried onions'? I kept eating, anticipating his disappointment when he got the bad news, then there she came, as I felt certain she would, carrying a lovely plate with a big burger and a mound of crunchy onion rings. 😐😑🫤 WTH? Is there a secret password I'm unaware of? I'll go back because the breakfast menu looks yummy but I'll have my eyes on...

Wow. What am absolutely AMAZING place! Service was quick and FRIENDLY. This is the kind of place that you're family from day one. We had breakfast which was VERY reasonably priced, quick to the table and pretty good! AKA the breakfast restaurant trifecta. It's clear this place was built in the 50s\60s, but it's clean and quaint and kinda quirky. Real talk: if you're in Oak Ridge, you would be very VERY smart to grab a meal here. You're welcome. Bonus points: cool AF sparkly blue bar stools. See pics. Now that this is in a building that dies NOT look like it contains restaurant. It's next to the barber shop that dominates the facade.

This place has been around a very long time, and it totally looks that way. Don't let this deter you. I had one of the best blt sandwiches I've ever eaten here. I LOVED the chocolate milkshake, it's delicious! The onion rings are really tasty also. There's nothing really spectacular about the menu offerings, but the food is good and the service is friendly and prompt. The bathrooms are old and could use a bit of cleaning. If I am in town I'd definitely stop and grab a shake as a special treat, because I've kinda been dreaming about it. This said, I'm not sure this would be a destination eating place....it might be a one and done.

What a gem we found! Small local soda fountain/burger restaurant with great prices, GREAT food, and great service. We were greeted when we entered and our server was very helpful and nice. We ordered a cheeseburger and fries which were DELISH, a side of onion rings which were perfectly battered and tasty, and a couple of milkshakes, the chocolate malt and blackberry cobbler. Both were AMAZING! We definitely plan to come back when we are in the area. Highly recommend!
