APRIL 29TH After a 17-hour road trip with my family, exhausted and just minutes from our Orlando resort, I specifically searched for one of the cleanest Popeyes locations based on reviews. We usually fly, but this time we took a road trip to try something different. All I wanted was to grab a quick, solid meal to bring back and feed my very hungry family of five.
Instead, I got one of the worst fast food experiences I’ve ever had.
The drive-thru speaker was barely functional. They couldn’t hear a word I said. When I asked to place my order at the window, I was told flat-out, “We can’t take orders at the window,” which makes absolutely no sense if your intercom system doesn’t work. It was about 40 minutes before closing; plenty of time, and I was ready to place a large order.
When I asked about the quantity of included pieces, trying to find a large meal option, I guess she was tired of my three questions, questions I could’ve easily missed on the menu, being as exhausted as I was. Her response? “Can’t he read? It’s right on the menu.” That’s the level of professionalism I got. They spoke back and forth with each other, over the intercom with annoyed tones, while I inquired about my options. Completely uncalled for. It honestly felt like they were pretending not to hear me just to avoid doing their job.
I came ready to spend money. But clearly, they didn’t care; maybe because they don’t see a dollar of it. This location dragged a normally calm man completely out of character. I don’t know what kind of leadership allows this level of disrespect and laziness.
As a strong supporter of the Black community, it hurts to say this, but my experience felt like the “typical” treatment expected in certain neighborhoods. You may not feel the benefit of the money Popeyes brings in, but it’s the customers that keep you employed. (at least for now.) We have to change our attitudes as a community. I truly wish those workers well in life and hope they find something they’re actually passionate about, because clearly, food service isn’t it. But please, don’t carry that attitude with you. I work for a corporate company that would never accept anything even close to this behavior.
Bottom line: I traveled far out of my way for this Popeyes based on reviews, and convinced my exhausted wife that this meal would be better than a quick burger after a trip like ours. THEY MADE A FOOL OUT OF ME. I regret every...
Read moreThis was probably the most unprofessional experience I've ever had at this Popeyes
We ordered 2 chicken sandwiches 12pc Ghost pepper wings a reg coleslaw and 1 biscuit with a side of fries and Mac and cheese. I'm not gonna get into the quality of the food too much but it wasn't the best they've provided.
We pulled up at 8:10 at the latest and did not leave until 8:50. They told us it would only take 7 minutes for the chicken... then came out 15 mins after to tell us they forgot to drop the chicken..
Amongst throwing a bunch of stuff in the bag that we did not order to "compensate" for the wait (things we don't eat from here like their rice and beans apple pie etc) they did not even put the original side orders in the bag claiming they had no more Mac and cheese as well as not even giving us the biscuits or the coleslaw.
While we were waiting we saw about every single person that came after us come in and get their food and leave. As well as one of the staff "dancing" with a customer in the dining area. And when I say dancing I mean she was grinding on him randomly I cannot exaggerate this.. Everyone was kinda chilling and not doing their job.
I loved loved this Popeyes but at this point its getting ridiculous and I'm not one to leave reviews but I'm so heated about this experience I had to...
Read moreThe taste and texture of the chicken was great. The Mac and cheese was good. The biscuits and bean/with rice were also very good. The manager talked real slimmy to her crew. Therefore, everyone had attitudes. One young lady cursed like she was a sailor. Other were trying to make it to shift end. The cook was swamped, but he made it do what it do. I tip my hat to him. One young lady pulled a trash can up to the register area and left it. Did not wash her hands and went back to handling food. Another swept the floor and did the same.Does the water work in there? No hair nets, no caps or any type of hair cover. That fake stuff was everywhere. In the dining room, trash cans had been emptied. The trash was left sitting in the walkway in front of the exit door. Our order of 12 pieces of chicken,6 biscuits and two sides took 42 minutes. Unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never go back inside of that Popeyes, nor any other. Service left a bad taste in my mouth. Regards Kevin...
