H-B Saloon — Restaurant in Oakdale

Nothing is perfect in this life!!💥 It's a little entertaining to read the comments. Lived here all my life and passed by constantly over the years. Never took the time to actually go in and take a good look and order a meal. My husband, a friend and myself went in to take a quick look at the banquet room. We decided to go ahead and stay for dinner. The service was excellent. The soup and salad were both absolutely down home, just like I grew up with and still serve at home, with homemade dressings. Rib eye and it was very reasonable and fabulous!! Chared perfectly! We will absolutely be back!! The atmosphere is exactly what one would expect in a bar and grill. Wow, i remember when going to the bar was the only thing to do on Friday and Saturday nights and way back then, i was at h-b a lot! The food was pretty good. My steak was cooked right on the inside, but had too much char on the outside for my liking. The white bean with ham soup was very good. The salad was fresh. The service was adequate but she seemed rushed all of the time and didn't smile. I don't know if they were busier in the back but I was the only person in the front diding room. Not sure...
