El Jardín — Restaurant in Oakdale

(See edit at bottom) I've always loved this place, and my fiancee and I always go there, but tonight was pretty bad. Our waitress was totally not present except to fill our drinks once. She didn't say anything, just took the glass and came back with it filled. She never asked how our food was. However, she did let me order a beef burrito supreme with mole, which I love; I was very happy. I was happy until I got to the meat of the burrito; shredded chicken. I absolutely hate shredded chicken. I never got to tell anyone about the mistake, since no one asked how our food was. I had to bring it up to another waitress when she came to take my plate with a pile of shredded chicken on the side. She seemed concerned when I told her, but never came back, and didn't take the nearly $13 burrito off of our tab. Nothing, not even a discount. No one came back to say anything.

If we go back, it will be for lunch/linner, because our orders are never wrong when it's just the guy who seems to run the place (guy with the shaved sides of head). He's awesome. He was there, but didn't have anything to do with my order tonight, sadly. (2 stars)

Only restaurant I have ever walked out of before ordering. Building smelled like rotting fish, could just be humidity but that's not the only problem. Menu is covered in advertisements, has higher prices than listed on google. And I know they know that because they're replying to reviews here. And like another reviewer pointed out, multiple of the waiters is clearly not of working age yet. Even if they're children of the owner, if they need to employ their children here (and advertise on the menu) to stay in business, they probably aren't doing good. Though staff was fairly expedient and polite

Poor service. Wasn’t very busy when we arrived at about 5:30 on Memorial Day. Ordered drinks extra chips then ordered entrees after a bit of a wait. Food was good. Margaritas were good. Once we were done eating we placed all plates at the end of the table. Kept trying to get the waiter’s attention but we were completely ignored for about 10 minutes. Once we finally got his attention we asked to order the churros with ice cream and he said he was too busy to order dessert for us as he had to bus the table next to us. Really!?? We were already seated. We had 3 small kids with us who were very disappointed. Poor service. He really blew his tip. It will be a while before we go back...
