Juniors Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Oakland

Grew up in Oakland, lived there until I was 17. This was the taste of my childhood, my folks always ordered Juniors. Every time that I visit back home, my first stop is Juniors. They remember me every time and everyone's welcoming attitude and smile always gives me chills up my spine. I get a plain slice and an order of calamari. The calamari is absolutely perfectly cooked and their sauce is to die for. I wake up in the middle of the night craving Juniors. Texas aint got a good slice even comparable. This is the first time my wife and I have had the pleasure to eat at Jr's. We ordered two meatball sandwiches and a slice of pizza. We ate outside in our fifth wheel camper (from Florida). The experience was so good that I had to go back in to tell them that it was the best pizza and meatball sandwiches that I have had in over 50 years. On our way home from a long visit and on a long drive, we're all hungry. Hopped off #287 not knowing what we'd find, when not 1/2 mile down the road we spotted this place. Local Americana and Italian fare at it's best. I had the chicken, bacon, and ranch wrap. Outstanding! Chicken and bacon were cooked to perfection and the dressing was homemade.
