Oakland Yard Wine Shop — Restaurant in Oakland

I have to say that this is my favorite place to buy wine, or just grab a glass after work (yes, you can drink here too!!). First, the owners, Max and Daniel, are about the nicest people you will ever meet. Plus, they actually know what they are talking about. From the moment they ask if they can help you with anything, you know that they genuinely want to help you find a great wine in your price range, and not just make a sale.

Also, they have a selection of wines that you won't find in most places. The prices range from under $15 a bottle (they have a whole table of them) to upwards of $200 a bottle. I would say most are in the $15 - $30 range.

You'll never find better people. The moment I walked into their beautiful little shop, I was blown away by how it felt like a place where a community would come together because the owners were so welcoming and helpful.

Daniel and Max are the friendliest, warmest people, always greeting you with a smile and genuine interest in getting to know you. Any time I am there, I just want to stay and hang with them which, thankfully, I can do because they have wine tastings on offer, too.

Most wines are in the $15-25 range, which means you can go back often to bask in the glow of their wonderful hearts while you have a flight or just pick out a bottle for dinner that night.

We were on our way to dessert but saw wine 😄 The bright sunny day and the chairs outside, made a friend and I pull over to have a glass of wine here. It's a well lit, wine store that also has cheese, crackers and other beverages to grab and go. Towards the back you can order a glass of wine or half glasses. We both tried different wines and enjoyed them. My friend had an organ wine, Esoterico. I had a red from Kid Sister. Our winetender/sommelier was helpful in answering our profile questions.
