Tacos Al Pastor Estilo Puebla — Restaurant in Oakland

The best tacos I have ever had in the bay, hands down. They only do al pastor but it’s so good that I wouldn’t order anything else even if they had other options. The meat is extremely flavorful and a nice medium between tender and chewy. Try the gringas too, those are basically like a cross between a giant taco and a quesadilla. The salsas are amazing, especially the salsa verde, and the habanero escabeche is super spicy but has a fruity tartness that matches perfectly with the pineapple.

Service is basic but good. You order at the trompo then find a seat and they bring the food to you. The woman who was taking orders both times I’ve been was very nice and professional. It’s cash only, so come with that in mind.

Atmosphere is basic but nice considering it’s a stand set up on the sidewalk. There are big group tables so you’ll end up sitting with other folks, which makes the atmosphere convivial and feel kinda like a picnic.

All in all this place is amazing and I will be returning regularly as long as it’s around. They do catering and I’m considering asking them to do the food...
