Nut allergy friendly - I put a note on GrubHub and everything turned out fine. Review is for take-out via GrubHub, which estimated a 30 minute wait on a Sunday afternoon. It seemed accurate and my order was ready when I arrived. I ordered "The Bay" as it was highlighted as a popular option. It is exactly as described with turkey, roast beef, yellow cheddar, and vegetables in a sesame roll. The meat was sliced thin and it was a pretty hefty sandwich. I'd say it's more expensive than I would normally pay for a sandwich and as a deli the portions are interestingly right between "not enough" and "too much." I split the sandwich with a friend for lunch and I could've eaten more afterwards, but I don't think I could've finished another half of a sandwich. Maybe with some chips or a drink it would have been perfect. Anyway, don't be afraid of the price tag as the sandwich could easily be two portions!

The saint is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The high quality ingredients (the meats & pickled onions and peppers) fresh rolls (saint has a sesame bun) with a pepper spread on the bottom makes for an amazing sandwich. The shop is cramped with a few tables and a few bar seats but it’s clear that they’ve invested some time in making it have a good vibe. Take out would probably be the best move. The cookies are a buttery tollhouse-style chocolate chip so if you like those grab some fresh out of the oven. Staff were good and seemed to care about making a quality product.

My brother brought me to The Saint Sandwich Shop and I'm so glad he did. The sandwiches are delicious. We got the special and The Beast and shared. The servings are very generous, we both left with to go boxes. You can pick your bread, protein etc however we stuck with the ingredients listed and were very impressed with the taste. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The inside of the place is so awesome. I love the style; dark walls with wood accents. There is seating inside and out. The best part is that it's in my neighborhood! I will definitely be back.

Sandwiches are pretty darned good, if a little spendy. The vibes are great and they have a parklet.

But as a person eating sandwiches for 50 years, please don't put sandwiches in a box where they slide around and fall apart. The toothpick doesn't do much to hold it together. This happens with every sandwich I buy there. Sorry I didn't think to take a photo this time, I wrapped both halves in parchment paper for a flight.

Please wrap the sandwiches in butcher paper. There's a reason this is standard. It keeps the sandwich together and the paper can be composted. The boxes they use are common food service takeout containers and they have a thin layer of plastic in them that makes them non-compostable. They can only be recycled. Which means you need to wash out the food, wait for them to dry...

Found this place on google maps by chance when looking for a deli sandwich in Oakland. Still thinking about the next time I can get their namesake sandwich The Saint. And the spicy turkey club special they had that day was exactly what I needed on that rainy day.

Delicious fresh bread (and also bread less modifications to people seeking that option) super fresh ingredients. All the flavors went well together. They also have chips, sodas, bottled water, and potato salad and mac salad sides. You can pick from their menu, or request your preferred sandwich recipe.

Store front is quaint and calm interior. Would’ve totally eaten there, but got meal to go. Appreciated the old school video game/joystick setup for one quarter to play...
