King Kong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Oakland

Let me start of by saying I've ordered food from here before. Their food is decent and customer service is ok. This time was extremely different. I called ahead to place my order. I asked them point blank "how long will my order take?" The waitress told me 30 minutes. I said that's fine and placed my order. I got there 25 minutes later. I paid for my order and was informed that it wasn't ready. I asked her how much longer, she informed in another 15 minutes. I told her I'll wait in my car. More than 15 minutes had passed and I went to get my order. She said it still wasn't ready. I asked her how much longer, she informed me another 10 minutes. I asked her if she was joking. I said when I placed my order over the phone, I was informed it would be ready in 30 minutes. It waited over 40 minutes and it still wasn't ready and they wanted me to wait another 10 minutes. She couldn't even guarantee that after 10 minutes it would be ready. I asked her for a refund and I left. The food was not worth waiting for an hour. Called another restaurant to place my order. They gave me an accurate estimate of when my food was ready and by the time I arrived the order was waiting for me. Won't be back here anytime soon. They don't seem to know how to estimate. If they tell you 10 minutes expect 20. If they say 30 minutes...

Won Ton Soup - Broth was very bland and not flavorful. Wontons were better, good balance of wonton wrapper and filling, and the filling was moderately tasty and not gristly at all, great consistency. Other ingredients (bok choi and carrots) were fresh and cooked well. Overall, 3/5 stars for this dish

Beef Chow Fun - Good amount of beef and it was tender, but a little bland. Noodles were well covered in sauce and not all stuck together with white parts inside. Sauce was on the bland side. Adding soy helped a lot. 3/5 stars

Mongolian Beef - Generous portion. Very, very salty; it ended up mixing well with the chow fun (rice would have probably worked too) but I think I would have had a hard time eating it straight. Nice heat kick at the end. 2/5 stars.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. After not receiving my delivery order, I called the restaurant. They said they had tried to call and text me, which they never had. They SCREAMED at me on the phone. I legitimately made a yelp account, just for the purpose of writing a review for King Kong because the man I spoke to was so verbally abusive. They shouldn't be allowed to be in business if they want to use that sort of disgusting and rude language and service.
