This was my first time trying Richâs Frozen Custard. I got to the window and a young male teenager took my order. I told him 3 scoops in a cup with strawberries (he assumed chocolate custard which I donât know why) and an oreo shake with whipped topping. I did ask about the topping to double check if 1 topping was free and more were extra. I assumed that the oreo and whipped topping counted as one until he told me they were 2 different toppings so I said just do an oreo shake and no whipped topping. The total was $13. I get the receipt and he charges me for a sundae and an oreo shake with whipped topping. This was incorrect. I finally received the bag and there was a sundae (1 scoop) and an oreo shake with whipped topping. I accepted the vanilla custard oreo shake with whipped topping because the wait was already long enough. The vanilla custard with strawberries was correct but this should have been a cup with 3 scoops (which I was charged incorrectly since I was charged for a sundae). While in the mist of waiting for the 3 scoops the LID WAS NOT ON TIGHT for the shake nor the âsundaeâ which resulted a big mess in the bag. He finally gives me the the â3 scoopsâ (even though it was 2 scoops he gave me) the LID WAS STILL NOT ON TIGHT and I had to put that on correctly myself. Letâs just say I live 5 minutes away from this place and on my way home the bag spilled over which resulted in a big mess on my passenger side on the floor. This was not the first experience I was hoping for :( I only gave a 2 star because the custard was just ok. I donât think I would recommend this...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here for the first time tonight. We each ordered the Wally with chocolate custard. It had brownie bites, hot fudge, and whipped cream. It was okay. The custard was creamy, but tasted similar Freddyâs Frozen Custard. The brownie bites were chewy, but you could tell they were just the standard store bought toppings most places use. They arenât baked brownies blended into the concrete like some frozen custard places do. The hot fudge was blended in, but you could barely taste it, if at all. The whipped cream was probably the best part as it was generously sprayed on top.
Richâs is fine if you donât have any other frozen custard options near you. I wouldnât go out of my way to eat there again. Youâre better off going to Ted Dreweâs or Andyâs Frozen...
Read moreOur family of 5 visits Richâs 2-3 times a month and we easily spend $20-$30 each visit. Many times, when we order concretes, the mixers or toppings are only mixed into the top part of the concrete and the bottom of the concrete is only custard. This past Saturday, all 5 of us ordered concretes in the drive through and when we opened them at home, there were almost no mixers or toppings AT ALL in any of the concretes. Additionally, one of the concretes ordered was brownie bits and the brownie bits tasted stale and like raisins. Finally, we enjoy ordering chocolate custard and the chocolate custard machine has been broken for weeks, at least since the beginning of the year. WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO...
